Regarding Rick Atkinson's source material for periodicals, at first I was going to try to add the actual links to the specific articles but for the most part - a great many of them can be accessed on JSTOR. JSTOR allows 100 articles to be read free each month just by setting up a personal account. So I decided to just list the periodicals used - cited sources and leave it up to the members to go to JSTOR and look up the article and read it that way.

We have added the entire Bibliography for our members in order for those folks interested in reading the other books that Rick Atkinson cited - with all of the proper citations (we added every one).

We have added the various links so that you could look up the material as you are reading and get more out of the experience. We checked the url addresses to make sure that they were working.

We hope you enjoy the discussion, the book and want to read more about the Revolutionary War. We look forward to the next two books in Rick Atkinson's trilogy.

A special thank you to Lorna for helping out with the bibliography so that we would have it ready for you.

Please feel free to add you own favorite Revolutionary War books or books that you feel represent any part of the subject matter of the book itself. You can also add podcasts, articles or videos.

However, no self promotion! Please use citations and we will help you.

I know that Eric did not think that Atkinson was showing enough of the British perspective; although so far he seems to be "trying" to be evenhanded.

I am adding below some other books which are supposed to be also giving the British perspective for anyone who is questioning Atkinson's neutrality.

So far, I think he is doing a fairly good job of it; but other global members may not agree.

This is a forum to debate and discuss all of the facets of an event and there are never just two sides to any of these debates either - sometimes there are many; so please feel free to add other books to the mix and to the bibliography thread which you feel are more representative of the historic events, people and facts.

We welcome that, of course.

There also might be books written by the French; or which tell of the events by French participants. There may be books about the involvement of the country of France in the colonists' struggle or give their perspective about the American Revolution, too. We welcome your adding any and all of those to the Bibliography thread as well.

Here is the link to the Bibliography thread where we have added everything in the Atkinson sources segment - a yeoman's job I can attest.

Link to the Bibliography thread where you can also add books:

Thank you Jerome - I was hoping you might answer the call (smile) - I know this is a favorite subject of yours so I appreciate all of the adds. Can you add this post to the Bibliography thread as well because I do not want to lose all of these great sources.

The ones from Lafayette's perspective must be interesting too.

With so many screens open - I just realized you were on the Bibliography thread already (lol).
