Kathy | 26 comments I am considering Outlander, by Diane Gabaldon. It may also count as my book turned into a tv show.

Genesis Rogers-Lewis (zombiegigi) That's a really good one!

message 3: by Melissa (new)

Melissa LOVED that book!!!

message 4: by Natália (new)

Natália Lopes (silkcaramel) I'm considering this one as well for this category, cause I already have one in mind for the "turned into a tv show" category! I've been meaning to read it for a while, but it was very hard to find here in Brazil so I had to buy the e-book for my kindle (it's the next one on my to-read list, after I finish "Cress", yay!).
I watch the tv show and I love the whole plot, can't wait to read the source material!

Sarah Davis (ginnywoolf) I loved Outlander. I was completely surprised by it and love the characters. I have such respect for Gabaldon. It truly has something for everyone: the romance fan, the historical fiction fan, and the Sci fi fan. Enjoy!

message 6: by Amy (new)

Amy | 6 comments That is one of my all time favorite books! I do warn people who are reading it for the first time that there is a fairly graphic description of a man being raped near the end. It really bothered me and although I've read the whole book several times, I always skip that part. Some things just stick with me and I can't get them out of my head. So if you are sensitive to such things, just be aware.

message 7: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (amandabookworm) I wish there was a more PG version of this book available. I love the idea of the story, and I am a sucker for historical fiction, but I decided not to read after a friend told me about the content of the book.

Stephanie (stephy3232) | 19 comments I loved this book! Has anyone read any other books in the series? I keep meaning to pick up the next one.

message 9: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (ashleydz) | 43 comments I'm currently reading the series all over again, and as such have actually chosen to do Drums of Autumn for this prompt! Absolutely love all the novels!

Natália Lopes (silkcaramel) I finished this about two days ago and I loed it so much! Can't wait to pick up the next one!

I totally agree the first book got me hooked read the whole series but your comment reminded me of that part of the book. I fell in love with Jamie and it was so difficult to read on so many levels

RachelvlehcaR (charminggirl) I read this book when I was in high school and loved the book. I reread it last year and my views of it switched. The part I do like is the historical fiction part.

message 14: by Margery (new)

Margery Cox | 4 comments Have read all books in the series!

message 15: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Galloway-Miller (nrgalloway24) | 10 comments This series has the best portrayal of a "real" marriage and "love" that I have ever read. I am not a big Fan of romance, because I don't believe in "happily ever after," This book really impressed with how the author dealt with love and marriage and the character of Jamie is so dreamy. It is my mother's favorite series, so I am planning to read "Dragonfly in Amber" for that category (book your mom loves she has read the entire series at least two times)
