Okie dokie then, let's see what happens this week as we meet off kilter German experimental band Einstürzende Neubauten.

Formed in 1980, they have 12 official album releases, with another on the way ( I can't wait), plus a clutch of EPs and a few soundtracks to choose from. Feel free to dive into any of the multitude of live albums, solos, collaborations, anything related you can find really.

All done, and the first thing to do is to thank everyone who took part. I, for one, thought that was an excellent playlist.

To the winners, and snaffling the gold this week, Val, with Salamandrina. A runners up silver for Brass Neck, with the as yet unreleased (it's out tomorrow, I have been promised it for my birthday in a few weeks) Alles In Allem. And the bronze gong goes to Spacepig with the live version of Der 1. Weltkrieg.

Hope some of you enjoyed that one.

I enjoyed the playlist but I found them hard to pin down as to style - the tracks varied from the dreamy, melodic ones to the harder, driving sounds. I suppose it is a good thing when a band can excel at varied sounds.

Sorry I didn't get to vote Space, it's been a manic last few days. I'm looking forward to listening to the playlist over the weekend.

i did enjoy the list, but found it, in comparison with their records i own, less confrontational and, well, noisy, than i expected. blixa at the piano? i did like and the new lp is a possibility for me, but i felt it was influenced by his old cohort nick cave. cave tells a good story of blixa leaving the bad seeds, where no communication took place, he just didn't turn up again!

Well, if nothing else, at least this band has got us talking, that's always good to see.

So Val has found them hard to fit into any particular genre - awesome, who needs genres? It's been said before many times, there are only two genres - music you like, and music you don't like :-) I am glad to see that both Val and Lez enjoyed the selection.

Tech, I obviously don't know what albums you have, but I have never thought of EN as confrontational - noisy, possibly, when I boot the volume up (ok, that happens a lot), but not in your face in the way that Faust and the likes are. Speaking of which, there is a quite incredible gig on youtube with Hans Joachim Irmler of Faust playing with EN:

I am sure there are more, I'll search later. But really, I have always found them to be a great band to chill with, maybe I just chill in different ways to most people :-)

And Sussex, I would be interested to hear what you made of the playlist once you have had a chance to listen to it.
