Not a book they appreciate, or grudgingly respect, but the one that captivated them, the one they didn't want to put down, the one that made them decide, for themselves, to make reading a part of their life, forever."

In chapter 5, Anne Bogel shares the books that hooked herself, her husband, and one of her children on reading. She describes them as the books that kept them up at night, reading under the covers at 2 AM because they just had to know what happened next.

As a bookworm, I definitely know that feeling. I imagine we all do! That oft-repeated phrase, "I'll just finish this chapter, then go to sleep..." that progressively turns into either an all-nighter punctuated by the satisfaction of the story's resolution or falling asleep with your face buried in the pages. What book was that for you? The book that kept you up at night, utterly captivating you in in the characters and the tale until you felt as invested as you would if these were your best friends or family?
