The nominations thread for the MARCH Fiction Read is now open, please suggest your book choices below.

All books need to be seconded by someone else in order to get to the voting stage.

I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes automatically goes forward this month as it came second in the poll last month

This thread will remain open until 5th January and then will be closed for voting.

Please remember that the books need to be readily available in as many formats as possible at a reasonable price.

Nominated:
The Engagements
Birthdays for the Dead
Shadow of Night
Snow Falling on Cedars

Nominated and Seconded:
I Am Pilgrim
Cinder
Burial Rites
The Miniaturist
Elizabeth Is Missing
The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle

Cathy | 553 comments Just checking Paul - isn't The Luminaries running over Jan & Feb because it's so long?

Jo has reminded me of that. Do you want to make this March?

message 15: by Jo (new)

Jo Weston (joster) | 1697 comments Mod
As this thread is up and running, why don't we do that Paul, just make this March's fiction read. We can either do the poll now and hold it, or save it and run the poll when we run the other March polls. I have no strong feelings either way.

Yes, please, and I would like to nominate I Am Pilgrim which will probably take March AND April :-) Happy New Year

message 17: by Pink (new)

Pink Oh I forgot about The Luminaries running for 2 months as well

Setting this poll now, or saving it for later sounds okay either way :)

message 18: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments I have an idea, could we create a new month to fit in between January and February?

message 19: by Pink (new)

Pink Yes please Jason and if we do this every month, I might just finish all of my challenge books this year :)

Genius. Who do we need to talk to to make this happen? Well connected people need apply.

message 21: by Cathy (new)

Cathy | 553 comments Fantastic idea Jason. While we're about it could we have an extra couple of hours each day please? Think of what we could achieve :)

message 22: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments I shall be calling this month BOB. Everybody shall be paid time and a half at work and it shall be 32 days long, just to mess up that silly rhyme... and as I am rule maker everybody will have a birthday each week. There will also be 11 bank holidays and Christmas 2!
