What did you think of it? Favorite or least favorite characters? Favorite or least favorite part? Will you read the next one?

Jessica (Goldenfurpro) (goldenfurproductions) | 3160 comments This book was great, but it wasn't as amazing as the previous books

BookOwl BookOwl | 21 comments Yes I agree Jessica. Totally.
I was more interested in Sorscha than anyone else. And that, says a lot.

Leah-Marie Villafana (leah_le_reader) | 18 comments I loved Manon she was my favourite character. I really didn't care for Sorscha that much. I'm really looking forward to the next book though.

Emily Daughtry (emilydaughtry) I loved Manon, and I hope in the next book she meets Celaena. Poor Sorscha though, I liked her and Dorian a lot...

Amber (undeadangel) | 7 comments I hated Sorscha, she was just tossed in there as a plot device so her entire arch felt rushed and unfulfilling. I didn't find the romance between her and Dorian at all believable, nor how easily he was able to shut off his feelings for Celaena.

I did, however, really enjoy Manon's story. She felt very real and even sympathetic despite her sociopathic tendencies. I found myself rooting for her and looking forward to the next time we'd see her story progress. I am really hoping that when her part meets up with Celaena's part that they come together in an interesting way.

Rowan is easily my favorite character, both out of the new and old characters. I love him to death and I was very happy that he didn't get added to be another love interest. I just hope it stays that way! Their brotherly-sisterly bond is much more interesting to me. Not everything has to be romantic! I wasn't too happy with how his role ended in the book but I'm willing to keep an open mind for how his story might progress in book four.

Jessica | 4 comments I really liked this book and I looooove this series. i don't think it was better than throne of glass or crown of midnight.

Celaena and manon's stories were my favorites. They were both very strong women who kept fighting for what they believed in. I'm looking forward to seeing where this is going and how all of it mixes in. I also want to see what celaena will do when she finds arobynn.

I also like rowan. I felt like celaena finally met her match in Rowan. He also pushed her to be her best. To not give up or settle for anything but her very best.

And I liked aedion but I felt like he was a filler. I hope he gets developed in the next few books.

I found chaol's chapters to be very, very boring. And I didn't care for sorcha. I didn't think she was necessary and found her annoying at times.

I can't wait for the next book.

Amber (undeadangel) | 7 comments I didn't think it was as good as the first two, either. It kinda feels like the book was mostly just trying to set up for something bigger later on.

Sunshine (sunshine2k14) | 2 comments My favorite characters were Mannon and Rowan. I loved their strength and even though we just met them I loved how they both grew as characters. I would have to say there wasn't any character that I didn't care for although I never thought the healer was honest in her feelings until it was all over. This was my favorite book in the series so far and I can't wait for the next one!!!!

Alexandria (starkovalina) I loved Heir of Fire! My favourite character was Rowan, but I also liked Mannon and Aedion. I don't have a specific favourite part, but I liked (view spoiler). Definitely will be picking up the next one as well as Sarah J. Maas's new book, A Court of Thorns and Roses.

Ruby | 9 comments Celaena was my favorite character, as always and Rowan was close in second. I didn't like Sorscha because it felt like she wasn't that important and she really was just an extra character that just goes away quickly. My favorite part was when Celaena fights when Rowan is giving her his power. I can't wait for the next book! :)

This is pretty much my opinion! Agree totally with you @Amber

Athena Kollitsi (athenab14) | 1 comments Well in Heir of Fire, Sarah J.Maas killed it. It was easy one of my favorite book of all times.. She made me kinda like Rowan better than Chaol though, and that made me feel a bit guilty, like betraying someone.. Celaena and Rowan are much more intense, passionate, even rough at some times..things i didn't from her and Chaol..

Marcella Athena wrote: "Well in Heir of Fire, Sarah J.Maas killed it. It was easy one of my favorite book of all times.. She made me kinda like Rowan better than Chaol though, and that made me feel a bit guilty, like bet..."

I fully agree with this! But then I also feel that Celaena and Rowan are like the same person in two bodies. More like two people bonded (like in VA if you've read it). I still want Celaena and Chaol to happen but I wouldn't be too bummed if she ended up with Rowan. I just don't want her to end up with Dorian...at all. I will cry if they do haha. Nothing against Dorian, I just don't agree with him and Celaena being together.

I agree. I'm not sure why I don't want her with Dorian, although I love the tension. I think it has to be Chaol all the way. No way to Rowan, although he's fantastic and has to come back in a big way.

Amber (undeadangel) | 7 comments At this point it almost seems like Dorian is destined to die. I have been half-wondering if he's even going to make it out of this at all because it seems like any avenue for a happy ending is being completely cut off from him.

After the last book I have been feeling misgivings to CelaenaxChaol too, the longer they're away from each other the more unmatched they start to seem. I'm so confused with who I want to see her end up with now!

message 17: by Mira (new) - rated it 4 stars

Mira I like Heir of Fire a lot because I feel like the story has finally found its plot. The first book was kind of an abrupt introduction to the world and seemed (at least to me) as though the magic aspect was hastily added in. That being said- I still loved it. Now, in Heir of Fire, we get more on Calaena's background (which I am loving) and there is a clear end goal that Calaena is working towards. One thing that I desperately want to happen before the series ends is a Calaena-Arobyn confrontation.

As for the characters, for some reason I really can't stand Sorscha and it bothers me how quickly Dorian falls in love with her. I used to be 100% team Chaol but the introduction of Rowan kind of changed that. Oh well. The tension between Rowan and Calaena is just too good, although they are distantly related which makes it of disturbing that I love them so much. Unfortunately, I think they're just going to remain friends.

Just an end note: The 5 novellas in this series were my favorite part- they are amazing.

message 18: by Lucy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lucy Coats Thing is, I'd been expecting a trilogy - so I was a bit thrown when I realised this wasn't going to be the last book (how stupid am I!?). I thought there were flaws, definitely - Sorcha was a bit of a mistake - but I do LOVE Rowan because he's difficult and has a lot of depth I want to know more about. Also, being Methuselah's granny, I kinda like that he's about a hundred and five!

Michaela | 40 comments I loved Heir of Fire! I think the Throne of Glass series just keeps getting better and better with each book. I didn't want this book to end.

I felt so saddened for Celaena at having to find herself throughout Heir of Fire when she was still grieving from the events in Crown of Midnight. I loved Rowan and I loved his relationship with Celaena and how he helps her throughout the book.

I also loved the other new characters like Manon and Aedion. I'm really excited to see more of Aedion, he seems like a really interesting character.

Roxanne R | 8 comments I loved this book a lot. I think Sarah J Maas did a really good job of developing Celaena's character throughout the book.

I also loved Manon as a new character.

fatima˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆ (fatimareadsbooks) I loved this book so much! I was basically crying when we learned about Celaena's past and what happened to her. My favorite character is definitely Celaena and I love her relationship with Rowan! Also, I'm really excited for Aedion and Aelin to reunite, oh my god. The title of the next book was recently released and I'm totally gonna read it! This is my favorite series!!

manasa k (manasak) I really loved this book, she did a great job of introducing new chracters like rowan and Aedion and Manon without overcrowding the book and i am literally counting down the days to the fourth one WHICH HAS A NAME NOW

Krista (kristap13) I really enjoyed this book, and the entire series. The only complaint I have is the randomness of Manon being thrown in. I would have liked a better idea of where her character was going to fit in with the rest of our main characters. I still liked reading the witch chapters though. I love the Rowan/Celaena match, great complimenting characters. All of these books just end too soon haha. I read the entire series in less than a week, so I'm going to go ahead and reread :)

Em (emilytalksaboutbooks) | 47 comments This is my favorite series, and it was incredible! I loved Rowan, he is by far my favorite character. Celaena was perfect.

Jayda (mailani4ewa) Rowan and Celaena are my brotp

Same here. I don't think I've ever lost so much sleep reading before or felt so emotionally drained. I love this series.

Fia Tran (fiatran) | 1 comments Alexis I also read the series in less than a week, but it was worth it! I love Calaena and especially the development we got to witness in this book. Rowan was great and well Chaol as someone else wrote- his character just got really boring.

BB (brigittabb) | 11 comments This is one of the best series that I've ever read! I'm on team Rowan now, Chaols got a little boring. I can't wait for Queen of shadows to be released..1st of September seems so far away:(

Alexis (TigeroftheTowerGuard) | 137 comments I haven't lost hope in Chaol completely. I am a little worried about his survival though.

Isabella (bookninja101) | 1 comments The book was good but i am worried if chaos and celena don't get back together :(
