Leah (leahrosereads) Happy freaking New Year everyone! I've upped my reading challenge by 100, so we'll see how this works out for me.

Of course I cheat with comics...hopefully lots and lots of comics this year :D

Leah (leahrosereads) 1/200 - Justice League of America, Vol. 3 The Injustice League by Dwayne McDuffie

4 out of 5 stars. I'm finally delving into the DC universe, and I'm really enjoying the ride so far. Hopefully all the comic books are as intriguing as this one was to me.

Maria (mariah90602) | 2287 comments Happy New Year. I haven't thought about comics. My son and daughter are huge comic book fans. We have a comic book store near our home and they both go at least once a week. I might give it a try just to see why they are so fascinated.

I just started reading comic books last year, but I'm really happy that I did. This year I'll be trying out both the DC and Marvel universes, in addition to the single issues I'm currently reading, and trying out Saga and a few other hyped comic series that I didn't know about until recently.

Leah (leahrosereads) 2/200 - Leviathan (Leviathan, #1) by Scott Westerfeld

4 stars. I really loved the alternate history/world that Scott Westerfeld created here. It was creative, and I'm definitely looking forward to checking out the other books in this trilogy.

3/200 - Hulk Gray by Jeph Loeb

4 stars. This was my first Marvel and Hulk read, and I really enjoyed it. Made me cry (not all that hard for a book to do).

4/200 - Trees #8 by Warren Ellis

4 stars. WTH Warren Ellis. Ya hit me right in the feels in the first couple of pages, and then you kept this entire issue just interesting as heck. I cannot wait for the next issue.

Leah (leahrosereads) 5/200 - Aama Volume 1 The Smell of Warm Dust by Frederik Peeters

Another 4 star book/graphic novel for the year. I'm pretty sure this isn't indicative of me being lazy with my ratings. I've just been getting better at picking books that I think I'll enjoy.

It's only January though, so I'm sure I'll have some miss picks throughout the year.

I'm definitely looking forward to reading more from this series.

6/200 - Supergirl, Vol. 1 Last Daughter of Krypton by Michael Green

4 stars. Really interesting origin story, and for a superhero I wouldn't have normally gone out of my way to read. I'm really happy the library had this comic in, and I'm happy I took the chance.

7/200 - Batman/Superman, Vol. 1 Cross World by Greg Pak

3.5 stars. The art is fantastic, and while I enjoyed the story, Superman just wasn't that interesting...and those pants on the young Superman. The hell?

Leah (leahrosereads) 8/200 - The Final Empire (Mistborn, #1) by Brandon Sanderson

5 stars, but really 1000000000 stars! All the stars! This was my first Brandon Sanderson, but it definitely won't be my last. I fangirled all over this book, and I'm not even sorry.

9/200 - aama 2. The Invisible Throng by Frederik Peeters

4 stars. I really enjoyed this second book. The art was spectacular, and I was happy to see how the story progressed.

Leah (leahrosereads) 10/200 - The Well of Ascension (Mistborn, #2) by Brandon Sanderson

5 stars! This series is just phenomenal!

11, 12, 13/200 - Saga, Volume 1 (Saga #1-6) by Brian K. Vaughan Saga, Volume 2 (Saga #7-12) by Brian K. Vaughan Saga, Volume 3 (Saga #13-18) by Brian K. Vaughan

5 stars for each and every one of those volumes. I know I'm a little behind on this bandwagon, but I'm officially on it.

14/200 - The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black

Another 5 star book for me. I have only read one other book by Holly Black, but I'm definitely going to check out more of her work.

I hope that you end up liking it. I know it'll end up being not for everyone, but I've been on this fantasy binge/kick, so I really enjoyed it.
