I guess so - I've been writing travelling, until I noticed that my team book is traveling. Team Traveling Pants has a certain ring to it :)

Americans pretty much spell a lot of things "wrong" I think we're the only ones who spell it with one L. Canceling is like that too. I actually prefer proper English spellings most of the time. Or gray in the US and grey everywhere else cuz why not? Soo many words that were changed.

Me too! I am so over adding points for Olympics! I love Wheel-a-thon. I like that we're on the top of the Challenge Status Sheet so we'll be easy to find. :) I am excited to start something new, but I'm also glad we have a few days to gear up for it.

Hopefully our captains will open our thread soon. I want a team chat and to begin to strategize.

So, my cat was spayed yesterday.

I present to you, the cone of shame:



And yes, she looks quite unhappy, specially because she tricked me into take it off yesterday, so she would eat, and then proceeded to hide under the bed. Since I'm a softy, I let her.

Awwww! poor kitty! Though that's a rather nifty cone of shame! We only ever got basic plastic, not even transparent, and certainly not with red racing trim!

So hard to watch cats in them and not laugh as they struggle! It's one of the few times they can't do their superior stares, putting us non-cat pathetic creatures in our place!

she has a strange walk.... I thought it was the meds, but no, it's the cone. I don't want to laugh and hurt her feelings but it's so funny.

Ours are usually transparent... but the red trim was a nice touch. Her brothers was plain, and a little longer too.

Poor Kitty, when our dog was spayed last year she kept bumping into everything with the cone. It hurt when what she bumped into was your leg

One of my cats had to wear a cone recently, too - she couldn't walk with it at all, it was both hilarious and super sad. She was just crawling along, head drooping, and kept the cone dragging on the ground so she also got stuck whenever there was a carpet. We freed her after half a day because it was just too tragic.

But, she has no bandages or stitches... just some weird glue, so I'm trying to give it a lick free time.

I was worried my other two cats would do it, but they only sniffed her yesterday... so... working from home helps to keep an eye on them.

Oh Sonia your baby is precious in that cone. I remember my dog being in a cone once and the picture I took of her she looked spaced out from the medicine for the procedure. It was funny when she would sit near a wall because it looked like she was in time out for being a bad dog. I hope she is doing better!

Right now, she's doing her best to impersonate a caterpillar. AKA she burrowed under the covers, cone and all, and is napping.

Her litter-mate keeps poking at the bundle to check on her. Or to tease her. They both can be true.

Cats and dogs in cones are so pathetic! I always felt so bad for ours when they had to endure it. They would look at us like, "Please help get this annoying thing off me!" Then they would startle themselves when catching the side of it while walking by a table leg. Poor babies!

When our dog got spayed we didn't get a cone for her for some reason? I just remember she was so out of it the first night and also ended up both peeing and pooping in our flat before we woke up. I felt so bad for her though, she was so confused :(

I think it depends on the vet. I have never had any of my kitties get cones, but, one poor baby had an ear infection. He had to get it drained, and when they presented him to me to take home, they had wrapped his paws in florescent pink bandages so he couldn't scratch himself. The color did not work on him. Hard not to laugh.

I really like the fact that each player can work on the task lists themselves. With 200 tasks I'm wondering if any one person will be able to do them all in 12 weeks? Any brave soul want to accept the challenge?

I want to, but I don't think I will quite read 66 1/2 books per month.

Although, if we could count this weekend's quidditch match, then maybe...

We aimed for a mix of easy & obscure with some travel type words. Some of the very out there ones sprang from chat in the "What's the Next Team Challenge" thread.
The recommendation tasks are to get us all chatting across teams too :)

And yes, was deliberately intended to be impossible to finish!

We spayed our dog a few months back. She kept running into walls and door posts with the massive cone.

I'm so sorry I signed up again today by accident, but I'm on a team. LOL I didn't see that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was locked and therefore a team and didn't check it for my name and of course that's the one I'm on. So sorry about that.
