yeah... the bells are annoying...

We have something close to it, it's called Pauliteiros de Miranda.... it doesn't have the bells... it has bagpipes, though...

not in June, for sure. If you get enough people to mob me into submission, maybe in July.

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12887 comments Oh and Cat, if you were actually thinking of listening to David Copperfield (as narrated by tall, dark and brooding, naturally) during this challenge, consider this a recommendation ;)

If Cat wants to open noms for a July Back Room BOM, that would be excellent. Although, since it's for Wheel, there are sure to be many more noms and votes than usual, which means the tree sex book will likely not win.

So...

message 414: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4254 comments Sonia wrote: "That is almost as bad as realizing that 90% of the spring books are for children"

And I think 100% of the seashell books are too short or photo guides so this should be fun.

"top shelf" = "tags" - for finding 10 books with the "seashell" / "delusion" / "hiking" etc tag associated with the colour slice of your word

(cba changing it, soz!)

Eni: giggling whilst sprawled on my bed

Me: reading the title The Botany of Desire: A Plant's-Eye View of the World...
Does it mean that is in the plant's POV?

Eni: laughs out loud

Me: yeah yeah... mutters under breath: just because your tags are freaking cool....

Linda C (libladynylindac) | 913 comments One more question - there is a listing of toughest letters on the summary page. Is there a score involving them? Looks like they will be counted, but are they being used for anything?

Ouch!

Yeah.

If you have LGBT readers on your team, nothing like a Ty&Zane group re-read. First 4 were written by both Abigail Roux and Madeleine Urban

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments For the YA readers, the Under the Never Sky series by Veronica Rossi is also quite popular - I haven't read them, so, no idea.

I recall very similar discussions last Wheel, with you stuck on classics and memoir and yearning desperately for Shifters! :(

Lexi | 4254 comments On a side note, someone tagged Provenance trees. Why??? (Love this book so may be time for a reread).

message 428: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12887 comments I have a few Z books waiting. I hoard the stoopid things (and Q and X too) for challenges, lol.

Also, U is easy! Just tuck into Bernard Cornwell's The Last Kingdom series... 12 books all with a U main character. (and extremely good books. There's another reccomendation for ya!)

as long as there is at least one tag that is not you or a team member playing "silly buggers get one over the mods" that's fine :)

What is the backroom BOM? Is it a private group and what's the purpose of it? I'll join! LOL

Not smoking isn't a problem at all; the second breakfast, elevenses, pre-lunch snack, lunch, second lunch, afternoon snack, high tea, dinner, supper, pre-bed snack etc are all definitely approved of though and I err towards the view of making them compulsory for any team that wants to partake

Hi Vicki, just accepted your friendship. I see we have a lot of books in common. I also needed a better system for Olympics tracking, i'm sure I missed out on a lot of points because I did not keep up on a consistent basis.

The backroom BOM is used (by me) to get more group points during these kind of challenges. Will look for link for you.

Good one. I also was wondering why there are two Ls. Maybe it's the translation? Regardless, the book looks great! Our library has one copy of Travelling Cats, but books are not due back until Aug 31st. We can return early, but I'm sure many patrons will wait until the deadline to return. We can get ebooks, but it's difficult to get the hardback copies.
