I have to say that this book is annoying me at the moment. it will do well to get 3 stars (chapter 23) (view spoiler)[ he freaking called his mother? then they go to her house to check up on her? (because that's not asking for trouble) and now what? they're going to go and try to rescue her> really? are you freaking kidding me?! (hide spoiler)]

It's annoyed me too. The characters have both had seriously stupid moments! (view spoiler)[ I thought that was ridiculous. He's the one that brought it up that going there wasn't a good idea, but then he thinks it's a good idea to ring him mum of the phone? Then she thinks "Let's walk straight into the place where the people who are after us work to get your mother!" Real smart thing to do Liva. (hide spoiler)]

Whoa, this book is just starting off right from the start!
This book is a reread for me but I had forgotten a bit what happens.

I remember now! Around this point I had guessed what happened. I'm a bit annoyed the male protagonist had to be half poc, what was wrong with making him full? but I'm nitpicking

Yep! I had guessed it correctly. Some things are quite unbelievable. I think I liked it much more the first time around. What with the going to his mom's house, the dad etc.

I wasn't really into the romance this time around. The story was still enjoyable but while it lost it's sense of urgency I think I liked it better when I read it for the first time. Liva is kind of a badass though, despite the unbelievable ending/plotlines.
