Good to know that series is good. I liked her Demigods of San Francisco, but haven't gotten around of checking out any other books.

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I scrolled past Ilona Andrews website and found a fun new series she has started called Ryder and now I am hooked. I did not realize how desperate I was to find out what happened to Julie, Derek and Ascanio. Has anyone else read it?

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments We just got a new one today :-)

What do you guys think so far? I find it funny how much Julie is like a little Kate.

I can see this will be my weekly Friday stalking.

message 1213: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments I couldn't believe Luther could see right through Julie, his powers have definitely grown in the 8 yrs Julies' been gone.

And yes, a little Kate is a really good description.

I did love that Luther called her out on it and how he did. Made me laugh.

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Just finished American Demon (The Hollows, #14) by Kim Harrison soooo I thought it was a spin-off - clearly, I just pre-ordered without reading and I was so excited it was about Rachel and Trent!!

My only complaint is I did not preread some of the other books it has been a long time since I read this series and I had forgotten quite a bit.

I love that Rachel is still worried and caring and strong and willing to fight it out. I have always been a fan of Trent and I really enjoyed the walk down memory lane both good and bad.

Jenks was off for me in this book and I was unsure what to make of it.

Does anyone know if this is going to be like a yearly thing?

message 1226: by Angie (new)

Angie | 419 comments Hi everyone!! I haven’t been around much social media at all lately, but I’m so excited about this series I’m reading I had to share!! The one I’m almost finished with is How to Dance an Undead Waltz (The Beginner's Guide to Necromancy, #4) by Hailey Edwards . Hailey Edwards is a favorite of mine, she has a unique world that a few of her series at least touch on. The Easter eggs from other series amuse me to no end. If you’re in the mood to read a few interlocking series that are PNR/UF and very interesting, entertaining, great. She is very under-recognized!! Start with Dog with a Bone (Black Dog, #1) by Hailey Edwards

Sandra | 4736 comments Waves hi* to Angie.

I loved the 1st one in Beginner's Guide to Necromancy How to Save an Undead Life (Beginner's Guide to Necromancy, #1) by Hailey Edwards
I've got the next couple, so I should read them :)

I’ve been terrible about keeping up! I read through the whole Beginner’s Guide to Necromancy, LOVED IT!! That series is now complete. She is working on The Potentate of Atlanta and maybe one other that I haven’t started yet. I’ve decided, again, that I need to only start completed series. I just read 5 books into what should have been a 10 books series, with no idea if the author is still working on them or not. I’ve emailed twice but no response. I checked here, FB and her own website before I emailed, so it’s not like I’m trying to be a pain. Ugh! Then I turned around and started another series by her, though I’m not sure how it’s going to work out. There’s a lot of different points of views, creating repetition, which drives me crazy!! Plus one character has a full POV section and he’s not even a MC that I can tell. And the person that is supposed to be the bad guy, from the way it looks at ½ through the first of 6 books, has a whole book!!

Okay. So anyway. I digress. A Discovery of Witches. Has anyone read AND watched the show? One of my favorite actors is playing the guy, and I’m all about wanting to know more about his character. So I’m trying to decide if I should read as I watch or skip reading *gasp*, I know, that’s that’s horrible!! Info overload!!! Please and thank you ahead of time!!

message 1229: by Angie (new)

Angie | 419 comments Alright. I read (listened to) the whole All Soul’s Trilogy, I still have Time’s Convert to go, but I’m trying to decide if I want to do some delayed gratification on that, since I still have to wait a whole week for the next episode of the show!! Bahh!! I binged the whole show, I think it was about 11 or 12 shows in a row, but now I have to wait. So I need some help picking the next book to read. Something to pass the time to get to next Saturday!! Any suggestions are welcome! I supposed I could catch up on any of the 50 series I have ongoing but those are the same issue, I get to the end and then I’m lost again.

message 1230: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I read A Discovery of Witches and it was this slow-moving beautifully told story. I doubt I will watch the show because I liked how I worked things out...not watching a movie or a show after reading a book is a thing with me.

You know I think I still have one book to read in the trilogy YAY something to look forward to.

Are you in the mood for something like that book or anything good?

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I finished Blood Heir by Ilona Andrews very cool to see this go from a short story to a full on book. It was cute to see Curan and Kate's kid. If there is another spin off I would love to know what happened to Derrick
DId anyone else read it what did you think

message 1233: by [deleted user] (new)

I gobbled up Blood Heir in days when it came out. I LOVED IT and I am up for a reread in a couple weeks. Derek was always one of my favorites, and Julie has really grown into such an amazing character. AND I'm so excited for the next one!

I just started A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah K Maas. I'm only a few chapters in, and I'm realizing I remember so little of the series. yikes.

I finished this back in March and was telling my sister there was so much I didnt remember from the other books because there was SUCH a time lapse between books :/.... The first half of the book I was messaging her like do you remember this do you remember that.. When did this happen I don't remember that..

Keisha Bruce (keishamae85) | 49 comments I am currently starting Crimson Veil this book is number 15 in the OtherWorld Series or also called The Sisters of The Moon by Yasmine Galenorn. Not sure if anyone has read this series yet. Its paranormal romance about 3 sisters. The oldest is a Moon witch half fae, the middle one is vampire and half fae and the youngest is a 2 faced were and half fae. There is 21 books in the series so far. The first book is about the oldest sister, the second book is about the middle sister and the third book is about the youngest sister and the books go on like that for each sister. When I first started this series I did not like it. The first book I did not like so I stopped reading the set after book one. Then I ran out of stuff to read and picked up book 2. After that I've been hooked.

That series has been on my list for awhile now. Thanks for the reminder.

Right now I'm reading The Eye of the World AND it is SOOOOOOOO long. I'm not giving up, but I'll be excited when I get to pick some UF back up.

I've read the first 4 books of that series, but its been awhile. I think other new & shiny covers have gotten in the way.

message 1239: by Angie (last edited Apr 29, 2021 11:37AM) (new)

Angie | 419 comments I’m at a crossroads, as with any time I finish a series. I have too many books to choose from and no real idea what kind of mood I’m in, except I’m leaning toward The Argeneau/ Rogue Hunters series by Lynsay Sands or The Anita Blake Series Laurell K. Hamilton or maybe even Steal the Light (Thieves, #1) by Lexi Blake and its whole series by Lexi Blake. Also there’s a 3 book series of retelling of Fairy Tales by Lexi Blake that I'm debating, which is by far the least investment, and the only one I haven’t read any part of before. The other three I’ve read the majority, with a couple or few books that I need to catch up on. Oh! Also Jennifer Estep has two series I am behind or haven’t started. See!! Too many choices!! Anyone got any helpful suggestions?? (I have over 6000 books on my kindle, plus a few hard copies floating around my house, so I *really* have too many choices!!)

(Edit: for the correct Lynsay Sands and Laurell K. Hamilton!)

message 1240: by Sandra, Need more time to Read!! (new)

Sandra | 4736 comments Angie, I'd opt to finish up series you've already started.

Though a friend of mine loved the Lexi Blake Thieves books :D

message 1241: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments Angie, I know the feeling and it is great right :-)
For what it is worth the Argeneau series I find I can only read a few at a time because they get a bit formulaic and I do not enjoy them as much as when I space them out.

Thanks for the tip about Lexi Blake I have not read that one.

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I am fairly sure Amanda Ronconi is one of my favorite narrators, at any rate I was stalking her work on audible and came across a new author - well new to me Danielle Garrett and I have been enjoying all of her witch series if you are looking for a light read or audio book I would recommend the Beechwood Harbor Magic Mysteries. The first one was just ok but I liked all the rest.
