The Pyromaniac00 (pyromaniac00) im out of books. if I have time, will swap if nessisary! huge horror/fantasy fan, some sci-fi, adventure and action are also good. out of books on my shelves, and the libraries are just about empty! help NEEDED ASAP!!!

message 2: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) I'd recommend Stephen King's Duma Key. It's a good combination of fantasy and horror, and it's just amazing on audio.

message 3: by The (new)

The Pyromaniac00 (pyromaniac00) what plotlines though? if i dont know, i might not like it, and then i will have wasted time and/or money! you dont choose random food to try without knowing what it is! you get what im saying?

message 4: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) Hmm Andrewk a simple "thank you" would suffice. You can look it up here on GR to learn more about it.

Andrewk, all you have to do is take the recommendation Becky made and then search the book here. You can deduce from the reviews of other members whether you will like it or not.

Please do not ask for a recommendation and then throw it back at the recommender!

The Pyromaniac00 (pyromaniac00) look, im a plain person, and i still dont know much about the site, so dont try making me do things i didnt know existed! there is no respect in the world anymore! you can just say plainly about it, and leave it at that!

Andrewk, this is not going very well. I am going to ask that you curb your attitude, or I will remove you from the group. If you cannot take feedback positively, then this group is not for you.

message 9: by The (new)

The Pyromaniac00 (pyromaniac00) ok, now i get it, i think. but, i will try it, also, do any of you have the attention span needed to write books? i have ideas, but no patientce(which im sure youve figured out by now!) and i have the attention span of a mosquito!

message 10: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Thanks Laura and Lori. :)

Andrew, I'm sorry if I did not provide my recommendation in the correct format. I provided a recommendation based on what you said that you liked.

"huge horror/fantasy fan" is what you said, so I recommended a book with those qualities.

In the future, perhaps it would benefit you to be more specific in your request - such as asking for a synopsis, or providing examples of books that you enjoyed so that people who might recommend books can narrow the field down to what you might like the most. :)

message 11: by The (new)

The Pyromaniac00 (pyromaniac00) ok, thanks for the advice!

The Pyromaniac00 (pyromaniac00) anyone? HELLO? does anyone have a book recomendation! please!

message 15: by El (new)

El Andrewk, you need to keep in mind that this is not Instant Messenger. Not everyone sits here and immediately responds to all posts. Have a little patience.

This is a pretty large site with a lot of quality readers. I would suggest since you're new that you browse through some of the other recommendation links or even click randomly on people in this group to see what they have on their shelves. When I first started that's what I spent a lot of my time doing. Once you find someone with books you're interested in, you might find other titles on their shelves, or on their friends' lists. Before you know it you'll have all sorts of suggestions and you'll have a To-Be Read list taller than you!

message 16: by The (new)

The Pyromaniac00 (pyromaniac00) i dont have any patience!!!!!!!! this group has 5315 members, not 1 person giving recomendations!!

message 17: by El (new)

El There's such a thing as learning to help oneself. You have an intolerant attitude, and not many people, myself included, are willing to encourage that.

Good luck.

I have removed Andrew from the group. He is obviously underage and does not heed warnings very well. I cannot tolerate too much of that.

Thank you all for your patience. He certainly did not deserve it!

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 1736 comments Makes sense to me.

Andrew is no longer with us guys. Sorry. He was working my last nerve and being rude.

message 23: by Laura (new)

Laura (apenandzen) He's gone, but that Down River looks really good Elizabeth.

(We'll take his book recommendations anyway Lori - we got the last laugh after all!)

message 24: by Carol (new)

Carol Snow Falling On Cedars looks good . Was it any good Elizabeth.

message 25: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) I've read Snow Falling on Cedars, and it was interesting, but very slow and methodical and kind of flowery. Not my style, but I did enjoy it anyway.

message 26: by Carol (new)

Carol In answere to Becky's post.I thought it looked interesting. I don"t think I will read the selection for this coming month. (Poisonwood Bible)

JG (Introverted Reader) Thanks for removing him, Lori. He was like my grandmother's annoying, yappy chihuahua.
