SCPL Online Fiction Book Club discussion

This month we'll be reading the latest installment in the Chief Inspector Gamache series by Louise Penny. I really enjoyed this book as the characters are well written. What else have you read by Louise Penny?

This will by my first Louise Penny book! She's been recommended to me a few times but the sheer volume of her works kind of scared me. Thanks to a SCPL book club I am a relatively recent fan of Bruno Chief of Police. Other than that I haven't read a lot of crime fiction. I've only just started this book and it's definitely sucked me in. It's probably not super smart to start on Book 15 of a series but at least I'm starting and I haven't participated in one of these book club discussions recently so I figured "why not" :)

So far, I'm LOVING the Canadian content (which is why so many people recommended it to me). I did Canadian studies all through school so this setting and the politics of Quebec are very dear to my heart. I'm listening to the audio version of the book though and the narrator is British which is weird. Other than that, it's great!

Looking forward to seeing where the story goes, and our discussions...and ultimately to going back to the beginning and learning all about Chief Inspector Gamache!
