Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments I didn't do much reading last night or today. We had friends over last night and we played Cards Against Humanity until 1 am. Then today we went out for breakfast and over my in-laws so hubby could mow their lawn. I'll be alone at the office tomorrow so can listen to an audio book if the phone isn't ringing too much.

I need to look at what I have on the spreadsheet and what I have checked out. I might remove Out of this World. Almost done with Pale Rider.

message 753: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (engelsigh) | 1339 comments I finished a book for p or H. A potion to die for by Heather Blake. I’ll update the spreadsheet tomorrow. I’m on my phone right now and the spreadsheet won’t work

message 754: by Natasha (last edited Jul 06, 2020 12:36PM) (new)

Natasha | 1140 comments I finished a book that works for A and O and P. Apologies for not reading as much. I had my anxiety get really bad a couple of weeks ago and am dealing with furlough days and filing for unemployment for this month.

Sounds like a lovely weekend Mary! I hope today has been quiet so you've had a chance to relax a bit.

Natasha - I hope everything improves for you soon and dealing with things doesn't make it worse.

Thanks everyone for updating the SS a bit. Gives us a clearer idea where we have got to.

Nicole P | 1834 comments I'm kind of finished with work. Just the odd thing here and there but have got more time to read. Will read books that will help to finish Spell Out #7. And will spend some time today filling in the SS for planned books.

Sorry Rosina, error with copying and pasting when tired last night. Will check it isn't on this evening's update.

Nicole - yay for work calming down after a manic few weeks. Hope your time is filled with good books! Thanks for taking on spell out 7.

Good to hear we have librarians, if all else fails we have a thread in the captain's group for any requests too.

message 764: by Imke (new)

Imke (immie75) | 1644 comments Finished Glory in Death and updated the SS. I am working on Sea Witch at the moment and will finish it before friday.

message 765: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments I keep flipping between books. I'm going to make myself start finishing them off instead of going back and forth between a few.

message 766: by Tonya Marie (new)

Tonya Marie (tpinks315) | 221 comments Does anyone know how to adjust the page count in the update area? The page count on The Last Ever After page is showing correctly at 655, but the update area is only showing 600.

I know this isn't Hobbit related, just being thrown off when I update my reading progress. :)

What are you reading, Mary? Are you just not in the mood for them? :)

message 768: by Camilla (new)

Camilla | 1885 comments I will definitely finish the three books that I've marked on the SS and that are listed in msg #756, but no more before the end of this round.

We're back home for at least a couple of days, had to change our plans again. Glad to have access to the PC, shower and TV, none of which exist at the summer cottage. I haven't had much time to read, when we're at the summer cottage, we spend a lot of time with hubby's relatives (hmph....).

You've put another edition on your shelf, namely this one The Last Ever After, which only has 600 pages. You need to switch editions to The Last Ever After if that's what you're in fact reading.

Thanks Samantha! HP has a lot of letter options which is great.

I'm hopeful the tags this time round won't be too bad to find.

message 782: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments I finished Lady Betrayed and Wildfire.

I just feel like I want to read every book all at once and so I end up flipping between a few. I'll work on In Vino but probably won't have it finished until tomorrow. We have a lodge meeting tonight and it's actually back at the lodge.

Thanks Sophie and Victoria for keeping us all "together"!

message 784: by Victoria (new)

Victoria | 1132 comments @Mary - hopefully you find something that sticks with you! I also tend to flip through multiple books and often have to just force myself to read or give up on them

@Camilla- isn't it annoying when you have to spend time with relatives instead of reading lol But a summer cottage sounds wonderful, hopefully you didn't have to change your plans too much

And didn't realise we had so many librarians in the group!

Round 2 Countdown

Edit: Please have final updates in at least 2hrs before end time

8 pm UK time; which is 3pm East Coast and 12pm Pacific Coast.

message 786: by Victoria (new)

Victoria | 1132 comments I feel like I'm getting through my books so slowly this round. If it wasn't for audiobooks I'm not sure if I'd have finished a book yet since I'm still working through my one physical book. I think I need a reading holiday where I just go somewhere by myself to relax and read books

message 787: by Vikki (last edited Jul 08, 2020 06:54AM) (new)

Vikki (silverstarz) | 1278 comments I'm reading 2 at the moment, 1 isn't listed on the SS, but it will work for the S that The Spanish Promise is listed for. I'll try to get both finished if possible. Haven't got as much reading done as I expected to - thought I'd do more with being away this week. (We got our new motorhome yesterday - yay!) But I've been spending more time on a game so I can reach another maximum level before my fiance. I'm very competitive... lol

Is it 8pm for final updates on Friday?

message 788: by Victoria (last edited Jul 08, 2020 07:10AM) (new)

Victoria | 1132 comments @Cassie - I saw that your book The Unbroken doesn't have a page count on Goodreads and guessing you got the 293 pgs you listed in the SS from amazon?

If you could confirm perhaps one of our many librarians can update the GR page. If not I can get one of the librarians in the captains group to do so.

I know the feeling! I don't know why it took me so long to read Written in Red because I really enjoyed it. But I wasn't breezing through it. I haven't really been dedicating any "reading time" in the evenings so mostly I listen to audiobooks during walks and throughout the day.

I normally have 3 books on the go in different formats! Have to check they are different enough I don't get confused.

No rush Mary! Hope the meeting goes smoothly.

Tonya - thanks! Think we are one of the only teams that hasn't needed a replacement so thanks everyone for sticking with us.

Victoria - might be a backlash from so much reading a couple of weeks ago! Find mine goes in cycles.

Vikki - nothing wrong with friendly competition with your partner! Exciting you've got the motorhome. My husband keeps trying to convince me to get one.

Vikki (silverstarz) | 1278 comments Sophie - we've had a motorhome since 2015. We were meant to trade in our last one & collect this one in March but lockdown was announced the evening before we were due to go over to England for it. We finally managed to get over this week! Dunno if you've ever used one before but they're great, I'd recommend it. We hired one the year before we bought our first which is a good idea to see if it's for you or not.
