I'm away Sunday to Thursday (in our motorhome, thankfully, especially as the Coronavirus situation has been getting worse here...) so may not be posting as much. But I'll be reading and will update SS whenever I finish a book

Well done everyone! My bf is over the moon 😂
We're going away Mon-Fri. Will do as much reading as I can. Looking forward to sitting on the beach or by the pool and drinking a ridiculously priced cocktail 💃🏼

Nicole, sitting by the pool with a cocktail and reading sounds lovely! Schools are starting here on Wednesday after the summer break, we'll see how that affects the covid numbers, which are on a slight rise already.
Enjoy the time at the pool with cocktails Nicole! If you keep reading as much as you did last round we'll be in a v good place.
Camilla, you're right! Orient Express and Watership Down are both talking about how to up their reading to catch up and overtake us this round.
I've got 3 BOM to read this round which will give us a 60 point boost on top of the page numbers. BOM and reading as much as we can is about all we can do to fend them off!
Is it bad that part of me thinks we should have stayed just behind Orient Express so we didn't draw attention to ourselves until this round!

I know what you mean 😂 Done a sneak attack and crushed their dreams 😈 Now we're the one's been hunted 😭

Yes, somebody already called us pesky hobbits, LOL!

That's what Watership Down have been doing. Victoria and I can work out something similar if you'd like.
The number of books read each round is staying pretty consistent, but last round there were a lot more long books which really pushed up the points

Sophie, I'm in total agreement about the sneak attack! It's hard not to be gunned for now. I also really like Vikki's idea about not updating the main spreadsheet but the vindictive part of me wants them to watch us beat them!!! {evil laugh}
I am also reading 2 BOMs this month. I'm already into Five Feet Apart and am going to tackle Pachinko (hopefully). Pachinko is really not speaking to me so I am hoping that the first few chapters pulls me in better than the synopsis did.
I will continue with the audiobooks - Cassandra Clare's books always keep me entertained and they are longer so more points.
I've only put the ones that I'm certain that I can finish on the spreadsheet so that we can count on those points ahead of time. I will be done with Five Feet Apart this weekend as long as this migraine subsides. The different climates between the beach and home is killing my sinuses! Regardless, the audiobooks help that situation because they can be listened to while I keep my eyes shut and relaxed. And my trusty sidekick (fur baby - see updated profile pic for visual) is helping as well! =]
Now that I have written a novel instead of reading one... thanks for keeping us all straight!!

It looks like we are good on tags, can someone confirm? (Does anyone else thing these tags are hilarious???)

My plan for tomorrow is to listen to audiobooks while cleaning my house.
Or laying on the couch with a book. Could go either way.

Mary - I didn't know about the speed up feature until I read it here!!! Life changing!

Same here. I listen to all e-audiobooks with 1.5 speed. I also listen to audio CDs in my car, they sound so sllooooww since I can't speed them up.
Tonya - I enjoyed 5 feet apart, but Pachinko is slower going for me. It has picked up as I get more into it though.
I hope the migraine clears quickly, and I'm happy the audio books help and keep your brain distracted.
We're good on tags, but any extra that pop up aren't a bad thing in case anything unexpected happens.
Mary - a quiet couple of weeks for you sounds like much needed respite after the last couple of weeks.
I can't deal with audio at normal volume. Think it's at 1.25 at the moment but might up it to 1.5

On my first book for the final week & I'm enjoying it so far - The Chain by Adrian McKinty. Hoping to get plenty of reading done over the next few days when I'm away. Fingers crossed I can actually do what I hope!
I started listening to them when I had an hour commute each day after not having listened to them before. The narrators are v variable and I've found some much better than others.
Enjoy the time away!
Enjoy the time away!

I can’t listen in bed or on a treadmill. For some reason my kind wanders and I lose track of the story.
Housework is one of my main times to listen too. I end up listening while playing daft games on my phone as well.
I've moved a lot of books round on the SS. If you want to just slot books into the new page, I'm happy for you to use it that way.

I'm so jealous that you can cross-stitch! My carpel tunnel has gotten so bad that after about 10-20 x's, I can't do anymore.

I listen to them a lot during commutes, runs, walks, housework, etc. I want to read more of my physical books but seem to not have nearly enough time for it.

Is it okay if we mark the books only into the old page?
Physical books are tricky - one of my new years resolutions was to read 2 pages of a physical book a day. It hasn't happened. I read a lot on my phone at the moment instead.
Either is ok for now! If it gets too much to balance, I will let you all know.
I'm not going to do the updates daily given that the information is there on the new page. I'll update how Orient Express and Watership Down are doing every so often so we can keep track.

I've been an audio book fan for most of my adult life.
Wow I've never heard of anyone having an allergic reaction to a library book! That must have been a nasty shock.
I'm trying to convince my husband to build a lot of bookshelves round the window in our sitting room. We don't yet have enough books to fill the, but that won't take me long. The majority of physical books we have are children's books.

Spell outs 1-4 are planned out; we've got I books planned to spell out 10. If we were to read the number of books we signed up for we should finish 7.3 spell outs, so I'm not going to planned more Is for now.
Orient Express have read over 500 points and Watership Down are a little bit ahead of us at present.

I've added them to the worksheet. I will work on the tie to BACKPACKING when I get into the book. I wasn't able to find a match for one or two of them.

Looking at the rest of the series, I'd agree it's a fiction book so you can use the characters. Unfortunately there's no way of changing the tags, and other people are sometimes bonkers

I was {mostly} kidding Sophie, but I do wish we could!
I'll be getting us bonus points for the Spin the Dawn BOM though. Unfortunately Orient Express have been assigned a set as well.

I'll be out the next 2 evenings so I read the last few evenings. Hubby wants to re-watch the Great Brittish Bake-off seres and since I've seen them all, it's been easy to just read. He's contemplating going back to school to become a pastry chef. I think that's why he wants to watch.
