I did put the count down on the first page, message 8 I think. Like Sophie said, we'll try to keep all the important info in the first couple of posts on the main page.

I make no guarantees with adding banners to important posts. I get error messages half the time I try to add a photo, but it'll work just fine the other half with me doing the same exact thing - nothing makes sense to me lol

Victoria | 1132 comments If anyone is interested in reading A Bad Day for Sunshine (Sunshine Vicram, #1) by Darynda Jones there is a character named Quincy.

For me it depends on the book/narration. For the most part, I listen between 1.25x - 1.5x. I'm the same that my brain will start to adjust so if 1.5x is too fast at first I'll start lower and increase the speed as I get used to it. And yeah, normal speed is way too slow for me now.

I have that book. I might read it after the 3 I have slated to read first.

message 306: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (engelsigh) | 1339 comments The even starts at 2 pm for me. So I can possibly get 1 to 2 books done today....especially since it's the weekend and I can stay up late.

You hit some big spaces!!! I know it was probably awesome and I fully encourage repeat visits. There's so much fun stuff in the other areas too - if you have a chance to do "small town" Texas, that's a completely different energy. Thank you for sharing!!!

Yes Sophie!!! Texas is huge and I feel like embodies ALL different walks of life.

I tend to listen at somewhere between 1.25 and 1.5. Anything faster sounds like babble, slower and I get bored.

Sophie (drsophie) | 5687 comments Mod
I know that I still haven't seen half of the stuff to see round here, so can only imagine how long it would take somewhere like Texas. The idea that I'll ever see all I want to of the world seems bonkers at the moment - could spend a month in each state of the US before you get to the rest of the world

That would be an incredible state Jenn! I might manage to start something before I fall asleep but that'll be about it for tonight

Victoria - I'm with you on pictures not always working. Might ask husband (who is a software developer) to help me create something I can copy and paste in saying Important notice or similar!

Tonya Marie (tpinks315) | 221 comments OMG! Lately I haven't been reading much/fast because of work burying me... I'm already 85 pages into The Quickie by James Patterson and I can't stop reading!!!

message 321: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (engelsigh) | 1339 comments I finished I Might Regret This: Essays, Drawings, Vulnerabilities, and Other Stuff

I didn't get through my second book. I ended up in the front at work and couldn't listen to my audio book....so I missed 4 hours.

1 already is a fantastic start! Did you enjoy it?

Tonya, I'm glad this is helping you get back into reading

We really don't expect anyone to read all the time (unless they want to!) Please carry on socialising and doing other hobbies!

It was alright. I gave it three stars. Glad I listened to it instead of reading it though

About to head out for a 2 hour walk with family. Somehow don't think they'll let me listen to an audiobook

Aren't family members odd? I've noticed the same.

message 328: by Camilla (new)

Camilla | 1885 comments Sophie/Victoria: do you know why the points on the SS Round 1 sheet aren't carried over to the summary sheet?

message 329: by Sophie, The other one (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 5687 comments Mod
Hmmm, not sure. Hadn't noticed it before now. Will ask the mods if there's something wrong with the code (unless one of you wonderful people have the ability to look at it and tell me what's wrong!). I'm learning how to use sheets/excel through challenges so my abilities are limited

message 330: by Sophie, The other one (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 5687 comments Mod
I know. Was most unreasonable of them!

message 331: by Camilla (new)

Camilla | 1885 comments Also the Wheel V Status sheet is empty, none of the teams have any points there either.

The equations all look correct and when I replicated them in another spreadsheet, they work.

Try clicking on cell B15 so you see the equation, click in the formula bar so that it is activated and press enter. Sometimes you can force it to read the formula and update the cell content.

Thanks MH! I know there's an error on the members info page with counting books read each round, that I'm going to fix later (one of the other captain's has posted a solution).

In terms of the status sheet being blank, other teams may not be putting things onto the official sheet until the whole word is complete

message 334: by Sophie, The other one (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 5687 comments Mod
By deleting and reinserting a space it seems to have fixed itself. Will keep an eye on that so thanks for pointing it out (and for help with a solution)

message 335: by Sophie, The other one (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 5687 comments Mod
And now it's fixed, it is tracking through properly to the status spreadsheet too

Rosina | 1800 comments Finished my book The Prince....I didn't check the boxesin column B or C but filled in everything else...it didn't fit any tags...

Wonderful thanks! I've just finished Under Lying so we are off to a great start.

Please don't worry about columns B or C - they are so Victoria and I can keep track of what's been moved to the main SS and what we've got left to do.

In trying to sort some things on the SS this morning, I've broken other things. Going to sit down and have another look at it later on to fix them (and hopefully not create any new issues!)

message 340: by Tonya Marie (new)

Tonya Marie (tpinks315) | 221 comments I finished my first book! Just...wow. if any of you are James Patterson fans, look up The Quickie. I couldn't put it down!

Thanks! I've solved the data validation drop down list issue. Now to sort out the members info tab a little bit.

EDIT - Members tab should now be counting how many books you've read!

If you could that would be fab. We need at least 3 days participation for it to count. Will add a tab for BOM to the SS

Sophie (drsophie) | 5687 comments Mod
Tonya - could you add The Quickie to your shelf and mark it as read please?

message 347: by Sophie, The other one (last edited Jun 14, 2020 05:32AM) (new)

description

You ask and I will do my best to learn.

Please use European date formatting i.e. dd/mm/yyyy in the SS so that the members tag can track what's read correctly.

Also if you can add tasks to the books that would be great - 5 points for each task completed and most books will work for at least 1

message 348: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments Were names I had filled into the book I had finished deleted for a reason? I would think you'd want to keep them there in case books need to be rearranged. Just wondering if should refill them in or not. Before I forget.

Sophie (drsophie) | 5687 comments Mod
That's part of my failings with the SS this morning while I was sorting things out, sorry. If you could add them again that would be fab, if not don't worry, we'll leave those books where they are

message 350: by Mary X (last edited Jun 14, 2020 08:51AM) (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments No problem adding them back. I just didn't want to mess up a plan that you had going. It works for Z but I've found in some of these team challenges-so many will read for the hard letter that they don't all get used for that letter. This one worked for B,G and P as well.
