Jodi Crawford | 20 comments I loved Daisy Jones & the Six. The interview format made me a little skeptical at first but I actually really enjoyed it and felt it made it a much more engrossing experience. The band and characters came to life as though I was reading an actual interview: an inside look into the lives of a real rock band, and reliving their life on the road. This is only my second Taylor Jenkins Reid novel but I feel like she has amazing gift of creating such human characters with flaws that are full of raw emotion. This book made me cry and hit me right in the feels with the thoughts of my own life and what might have been. Unfulfillment resonates with everyone and that is something else Reid seems particularly talented; connecting with the reader and their personal conundrums. On a happier note, the nostalgia and and music are so immersive it makes you want to buy a Daisy Jones & the Six album! I can't wait for the series/film to be developed and see who they task with playing these characters. A couple of my favorite quotes from the book are:
" I had absolutely no interest in being somebody else's muse.
I am not a muse.
I am the somebody.
End of F****** story."
-Daisy Jones
"The truth often lies, unclaimed, in the middle."

Whilst doing some research on the novel for the upcoming Facebook Live Book Club Chat, on July 16th at 2:30pm, I read an interview with Reid where a lot of readers thought that Daisy Jones & the Six were a real band. In the Google search results, Daisy Jones & the Six would be populated with, is it real? That is the power or Reid's writing is making the reader question whether this could be a real life band. She does such a great job of fleshing out even minor characters so that everyone seems so real. Also, love the quotes you picked! I feel like both shine a light on what the novel is all about. We all have our own stories and perspectives with the truth somewhere in the middle of each one.
