So I started - I'm about 50 pages in. Some interesting parts, some long, drawn out descriptions so far.
I'm about 46% in, and honestly I'm bored. If it weren't for this challenge, I'd probably quit this one. I'm tempted anyway - but maybe I'll just skim a lot. Anyone else struggling with it?
Well, it looks like this buddy read fizzled out! Did any of you read this? I decided not to finish the book. I was skimming a lot, and wishing I could move on to something else.
Just stumbled onto this thread. LITTOC was suggested as a contender for the May Group Read. Wondering if more interest will be sparked in it as a BuddyRead.
I want to reread One Hundred Years of Solitude with the group this month, but might check in gear afterwards and give Cholera a try.

Synopsis: In their youth, Florentino Ariza and Fermina Daza fall passionately in love. When Fermina eventually chooses to marry a wealthy, well-born doctor, Florentino is devastated, but he is a romantic. As he rises in his business career he whiles away the years in 622 affairs--yet he reserves his heart for Fermina. Her husband dies at last, and Florentino purposefully attends the funeral. Fifty years, nine months, and four days after he first declared his love for Fermina, he will do so again.
Set in Colombia, it fits the World Lit challenge perfectly!
