Could you recommend me please a book that would meet these conditions:
1) It's written in 21 century
2) It's about life in 21 century (cellphones, internet, global warming, etc)
3) It's entertaining.

I've organized a group of retelling some books for those who learn languages. I have some classic books in the list, but no book about modern life.

Hogarth Shakespeare Series may be what you are looking for.
For instance Hag-Seed by Margaret Atwood.

There are 7 in the series, with an 8th on the way.

No, I'm not. I'm looking for a modern book about the modern life. Retelling is just what we're going to do with it: we read a book and then retell it in turns during a call on Skype

That sounds like an interesting project. Is it to aid people in learning a new language?
