Emma Woodhouse is one of Austen's most captivating and vivid characters. Beautiful, spoilt, vain and irrepressibly witty, Emma organizes the lives of the inhabitants of her sleepy little village and plays matchmaker with devastating effect.

Just picked it up at the library! Probably starting today!

Volume 1, Chapter 16 (view spoiler)[Emma really likes to meddle in other people's lives, I hope Harriet won't be too beaten down when she discovers that Mr Elton has been trying to marry Emma, and no her.

Thus far I really like it, it's interesting and not that much of a slow burner. (hide spoiler)]

Otherwise I'm kind of digging her falling for Frank Churchill and definitely want to see them end up together!

I also feel like everyone is overly concerned with her father's health, which is pretty annoying. (hide spoiler)]

Volume 3, Chapter 3 (view spoiler)[Emma is kind of sneaky with her feelings. i mean, now that Harriet has, supposedly, set eyes on Frank, she founds more than unhappy about it. (hide spoiler)]

I did like how it ended but I would have preferred to see more of Emma and Harriet's married lives; seen how both women would handle matrimony. (hide spoiler)]

*edit* more like i found the book on my e-reader and did not start this at all yet *facepalm*
