Anne C (fizzyannielizzy) | 1 comments Happy Pride Month everyone! Wooo! But also, how is it June already?!

You all know that I love young adult reads, and there are some great queer YA titles being released this spring/summer.

A new release that I recently finished is This Coven Won't Break by Isabel Sterling. It's the second installment in the These Witches Don't Burn series and there is NOTHING to NOT love about these books. They're set in Salem, feature queer teen witches, have lots of strong female characters... they're a delight.

A few others on my TBR list are: Felix Ever After, The State of Us, Late to the Party, and Loveless.

We're releasing a special episode of the Albany Made Podcast this month for Pride, so definitely keep an eye out for it, as a bunch of your fave library folks will be on offering some great book recommendations!

Lauren C | 81 comments I'm in the middle of Writers and Lovers by Lily King, and I'm loving it. I haven't read anything else by her before, and I'm planning on reading more of her books right after I finish this one!

Cassandra | 80 comments Many of my favorite queer YA titles are comics and graphic novels. If anyone else is into that genre, some of my suggestions are below. I would also be happy to know others' favorites.

Beware the Kitten Holy (or pretty much anything by Noelle Stevenson)
The Avant-Guards, Vol. 1
The Backstagers, Vol. 1: Rebels Without Applause
The Legend of Korra: Turf Wars, Part One
Sweet Blue Flowers, Vol. 1
Mooncakes
As the Crow Flies
Bloom

Kristin (kfitz) | 4 comments I just started Giovanni’s Room by James Baldwin, a good choice for anyone looking to celebrate both Pride and Black writers this month.

For manga, I can recommend Wandering Son and The Bride Was a Boy, as well as Our Dreams At Dusk and What Did You Eat Yesterday? Bear in mind that Japan is still relatively behind the US in terms of recognition of LGBT issues, so recent titles will have a more respectful treatment than older books. Anything marked "boy's love" or "yaoi/yuri" will tend to be more about titillation than realistic relationships.

Kristin and Kathleen, these are such great recommendations- thanks!

Kate | 297 comments I finished listening to The Guest List by Lucy Foley. It is a solid mystery thriller. I wasn't able to guess the ending! The full cast narration was very well done.

I am still deciding on what to read this weekend. Lots of great suggestions shared above!

Wow, so many great suggestions from everyone. Oooo, I've had my eye on Writers & Lovers for a while, but have never gotten around to reading it. I'll definitely make it a priority now!

Susan D'Entremont (susande) | 286 comments Finished Red, White & Royal Blue. Everyone was a little too beautiful for my taste, but it was a good summer read.

@ Susan I have been meaning to read this one. I hope to get to it this summer. I have also added your book for the summer reading challenge.
