I am going to try and read 10 different countries this year. I'm going to focus on female authors and I'm not going to link them geographically due to limited availability (and starting in June!)

The Thing Around Your Neck by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie **** (mostly set in USA)

I'd suggest that you also consider "The Secret Life of Baba Segi's Wives" by Lola Shoneyin. I think it would be a good addition to your list above.
