Since becoming an "adult" I find it harder and harder to make time for books. In college and in the years immediately following, I knocked out a book every other week while still battling the schedule of a first (and second, and third) year teacher. Then I went back to college for my Masters and there wasn't time. And I switched teaching jobs and there wasn't time. And I realized I had no life, got one, and there was no time. And I started dating "the one" and there was no time. And I graduated, got engaged, moved, and got married and there was no time.
So it's January and I'm making time. I've had the same book on my nightstand since July and the old Kristen would wonder what the hell happened to the new Kristen.
365 days, 20 books, that's my goal...let's see how this goes!
I have had a few times where I got into a reading slump. Start off with a few books that you really want to read. That always helps me. What is the book that has been waiting on your nightstand? I look forward to seeing what you read.
I agree with Jodi, choose some fun books that you want to read that have nothing to do with classics or awards or anything. I find that always jump starts my slumps! Happy Reading!
