Summer Song Challenge:
For this third quarterly, we wanted to try something new and different. Summer is all about family, fun, and sun. And what makes all those even better? Music! So, we want to sing some awesome rocking summer songs with you!

Each team will be given two songs to complete by the end of the challenge. All the songs are songs Alaina and I thought were perfect summer anthem songs. The songs are listed below. Keep on reading to find out how this challenge works.

Page Points
1 - 99 pages → 0.5 pts (and it will only count for page points - not words in the song)
100 - 149 pages → 1 pt
150 - 249 pages → 2 pts
250 - 349 pages → 3 pts
350 - 449 pages → 4 pts
450 - 549 pages → 5 pts
550+ pages → 6 pts

Buddy Reads will DOUBLE your points.
BOTM will TRIPLE your points.

Challenge Rules:
Each team will be split as evenly as possible. Each team will be given two songs to ‘sing’ by the end of the challenge. In order to sing your teams given songs, you will use titles and author names to spell out words in the song. You can also use one whole word in a title to sing your songs.

For example:
There is a line in All Summer Long that says “singing sweet home Alabama all summer long”
Boys of Alabama could be used for the entire word “Alabama”.
This same book could be used for the word ‘man’ in the line “caught somewhere between a boy and man” because there is an M, an A and an N in the title/author name.

Each book must spell out an entire word. You cannot use one book for the letters SUMM in summer and then use a second book for the ER.

Each song must be ‘sung’ in order. Teams will be given the first four lines of their song to complete. And for every one of the lines that are finished your team will be able to work on the next line in the song. (lines do not need to be completed in order. But lines that you are given will go in order)

**Songs are given by me. Teams do not get to pick which songs they want.**
