Does anyone know the difference between otf and ttf fonts? Does Amazon accept both?

You're welcome! I'm glad if I can help someone here! You know, not so easy for a non-native English-speaking... :)

I'm sorry, I'm new here... I'll try to reply again to Eldon without links, maybe it could be helpful for someone else...

Anna Lorenzi (annina19) | 3 comments Hi again!
Since I'm Italian, my English is not so perfect, and links are not allowed, I redo the post copying and pasting some info from the Net...

About OTF and TTF fonts:

"OTF and TTF are extensions that are used to indicate that the file is a font, which can be used in formatting the documents for printing. TTF stands for TrueType Font, a relatively older font, while OTF stands for OpenType Font, which was based in part on the TrueType standard."

"The OpenType font format is supported by Mac OS X and Windows 2000 and later. ... TTF stands for TrueType Font, a relatively older font, while OTF stands for OpenType Font, which was based in part on the TrueType standard. Significant difference between the two is in their capabilities."

"For designers, both amateur and professional, the main useful difference between OTF and TTF is in the advanced typesetting features. ... In other words, OTF is indeed the “better” of the two due to the additional features and options, but for the average computer user, those differences don't really matter."

On Amazon KDP, speaking about paperbacks, I don't think they give specific info about OTF or TTF fonts (honestly I don't remember), but they suggest to use very well readable and simple fonts (like Times New Roman, Arial...).

It's possible to find some info in the KDP Help Topics, for ex, under: "Prepare, Publish, Promote" > "Prepare Your Book" > "Format Your Manuscript" > "Paperback Submission" > "Overview Paperback Fonts"

I hope it works now, and that this can help! :-)

B.A. A. Mealer | 975 comments The common fonts for printing are ones like Garamond, Platino linotype, Bookman Old style, Arial Calibri. These are all accepted as good fonts for books. They need to be at 12 for readability. Notice that are all sans serif like the type used here. New Times Roman isn't the best type to use other than for your drafts since it isn't what they call an 'finished' font.
