This thread is to discuss Edgedancer, the side story book in the Stormlight Archive Series by Brandon Sanderson.

Everyone reads at their own pace during a Buddy Read. Because participants can be at different parts of the book at different times, it is extremely important to mark spoilers so that the book is not ruined for someone who is not as far along as others!!!

I’m reading the Emperor’s soul this month since I skipped it a few months ago to get caught up with the stormlight books.

So far pretty good.

I finished Edgedancer a while ago, and also read Oathbringer, but I'll keep checking in here to see how everyone is doing and discuss the book!

Scott, did you hear that Sanderson will send out a newsletter today with a preview of Rhythm of War?

At the moment, I'm about two shortish books away from starting Edgedancer. By the weekend, definitely.
I would love for you to share a few impressions. You always seem to increase my appreciation of Sanderson's books.

How do I get the Sanderson newsletter and preview?

You can sign up on his website, when you do they will sent you the latest one.

Looks like Sanderson has an alternate version of the way of kings on his site free as a ebook.

I'm starting this book tomorrow!

I just finished chapter 7 of 20 total chapters and am at 35%.
So far...
I'm fining this story a little boring. Yes, I recognized Lift from one the Interludes in Words of Radiance. It reads like a YA fantasy, a genre I typically avoid.
Thankfully, it is short so I will finish it.

The beginning is definitely a bit boring and Lift as a character can also be a bit annoying, but I promise you that the story picks up and there are some interesting plot points that are important for the whole series ;)

Some of our Buddy Readers in this group have been quiet, but Ilona, Scott, and I will definitely be reading Oathbringer in the months of August and September.
(Do we need to confirm again for September?)

Thank you for the confirmation, oshizu! There is no need for another confirmation, unless the thread goes completely quiet! ;)

I’ve already started Oathbringer so in definitely in.

I am definitely finishing the series with Oathbringer but may not start the book until the middle of August!
