Roger Kean | 17278 comments Complaint Department Rule #2.
No member may complain/insult another member or the Moderator(s).

I said: "No one likes running, it's just a chore you have to do to look fit and cool." and Preston said you already said you liked running, so my saying "no one likes running" I was calling you a liar, which is an insult… Oh dash it all, the game's about lying :-))

I'm going to wait for Marcie's and others' input…

I reread the stuff and it was Franco not you who drove the car. Now that make sense. He'd do it.

Marcie | 7096 comments @ roger: thank you for waiting, kind sir.

Roger Kean | 17278 comments 1) A week after I was 4, on vacation at Butlins Holiday Camp (ugh!), Pwhelli (Wales) and showing off by 'tightrope' walking along the hand rail of the swimming pool, when I slipped into the deep end. My father hauled me out.

2) Oliver's brother Franco did indeed have a few circuits at Silverstone in a Formula-One car, and to his chagrin was told he drove too dangerously to have his second go in the afternoon! Poor Frankie (as an Italian-Swiss he's also had a hard time here in Britain when on the phone he says his name – Franco Frey – and is promptly identified as an Irishman – Frank O'Frey).

3) I love the Alps, I lived a year near to Bern and the Oberland, but I have never skiied (Oliver used to be a school instructor and had to fight off the girls, but that's another story!)

Dash it, Preston wins! (Should have stuck with your first thought, Marcie!)

1. I saw the beginning shoots of one of my hosta plants growing despite the cold weather.

2. Some small branches of a towering fir tree out back fell over the winter but I'm glad because pine needles keep down the weeds.

3. Some grass that was sod planted by the side of a new walkway has quite surprisingly turned green already.

Nope 2 is the lie! M&Ms are ok but definitely not my first choice

message 464: by Roger (last edited Mar 30, 2015 12:08AM) (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments I don't know Dragon Age, so I'm in no position to be so certain, but it was the remaining choice! :)

That Preston wins again!

I'm a bit stonked to have had such a glowing review of Harry's Great Trek from Gerry Burnie. https://gerrycan.wordpress.com/2015/0...

1. Every vacation I've ever taken from childhood to now I've gone camping unless you count going to see my parents in AZ with my boyfriend so they could meet him.

2. My testimony in court against my ex-partner resulted in him serving a prison term.

3. Somebody drugged my drink in a gay bar and I ended up passed out on some old lady's front lawn which resulted in being rousted by the police who took me to jail where I spent one night.

message 466: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe 3, I've no doubt that you've probably been roofied :/ shit like that happens, but maybe not the going to jail part

Marcie | 7096 comments it's ok, kit :)

1) i'm not a flower kind of a girl.

2) my favorite flowers are calla lilies.

3) i have a variety of beautiful flowers in my backyard.

message 475: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments #3 must be a lie because you need a garden for flowers :-)

message 476: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe 2

message 477: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments @ ROGER

In America everyone is rich and we plant gardens on our large estates rather than in your tiny, claustrophobic area behind your house. Like our White House we have a vegetable garden where the Obamas get fresh produce for their meals, their is the famous Rose Garden and other places have been planted with greenery throughout it's history.

message 478: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments 1) i think flowers are beautiful...but would prefer chocolate over flowers ;-)
2) calla lilies are my favorite.

#3 is the lie. roger, you WIN!!!!

message 479: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments 1) I do not have a backyard (claustrophobic or not!)

2) My front garden lawn is growing fast

3) I am going to mow my front garden lawn this afternoon.

message 480: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments The lie is #3.

You'll mow the postage stamp in May or possibly June. As soon as the grass gets higher than the hedge and the neighbors take up a petition to have you scolded by the Royal Garden Standards Committee.
<-silly-grin->

message 483: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments I'm afraid Preston is correct. After a large Easter Sunday lunch there is no way I'd go and mow the lawn!

I don't have a backyard because in England we don't have them, it's a garden <-snark-> and the front lawn, or "postage stamp" as Preston insists on calling it is growing very fast.

message 484: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments 1. I have a painting by the late, great gay artist Tony de Carlo.

2. I have two lawn services, One for mowing and one for fertilizer and stuff like that.

3. I bought a photo album two years ago but right now I still have just a great heap of photos stuffed into a large manila envelope.

message 485: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments 2. i do believe you offer all kinds of stuff like that, but it's under the same lawn service

Roger Kean | 17278 comments #3 (sorry, a bit late to the game but yesterday (Monday) was a bank holiday in UK)

message 488: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments

1. Thankfully I have three of his paintings. Tony was a good guy. I'm sorry he died so young. He's a great loss.

2. Yup there are are two different companies because the State regulates the licensing of the fertilizer, crab grass killer, grub killer, etc company and there are only two licensed companies in the area.

3. —complete lie—

Roger Wins!

message 489: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Just a good guess… ;-)

1) I have climbed to the top of the Great Pyramid of Khfu @ Giza

2) I have climbed to the bottom of the Red Pyramid of Snoferu @ Dahshur

3) I have climbed to the top of the Pyramid of the Serpent @ Chíchen Itza, and up inside to the top as well.

message 490: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments If you are talking about climbing the outside of this Great Pyramid then the lie.

#1

Absinthe 3

message 492: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments You may be right Kit. I mean you could check on your super computers and I just have a macbook pro. But also I am not certain Roger and Oli ever went to Mexico and saw the Mayan pyramids. They never talk about the Mayans so #3 has a good chance of being the lie.

message 493: by Charlene (new)

Charlene Moncrief | 34 comments I wanna play! Ok... here you go:

1. I once dropped a sharpened #2 pencil in my eye, nearly blinding myself.
2. For prom, I had a double eye infection and found out that my boyfriend (date for that night), was screwing around with my best friend (our double date for that night.)
3. I once ran into a busy street to rescue a stray dog that was about to get run over.

message 495: by Eros (new)

Eros (spiritually_evolving_always) | 566 comments 1)I was filmed under the presumption of being possessed during an exorcism that I do not recall, but have seen the footage of.

2)I cursed someone in a traditional sense that one would claim to be witchcraft. I claimed horrible things to happen to her in two months time, such things happened and I claimed that the spirits were not yet finished until they were...two week later the person died of a heart attack.

3)I played football in high school before crushing my forearm between a boat dock and a boat while trying to grab my girlfriends earring from sinking into the water.

number three did I get it right?

message 497: by Charlene (new)

Charlene Moncrief | 34 comments Sadly... you are right, although I someday hope to do something as heroic as saving a stray dog in a busy street :)

Congrats!

I'm guessing #3 is the lie?

message 499: by Eros (new)

Eros (spiritually_evolving_always) | 566 comments Charlene, I hope you do pull off some heroics such as saving an animal in a busy street someday, too. ^_^ Honestly, the only thing that gave away the last one being the lie was the fact that A) the last one is always jotted with less details when one and two are given great details...B) 90% of the time it is always two or three.

As for my own lies I must grant you with gratitude in getting it right...

1) Was a crazy night for me that I only have the footage as recollection and proof to.

2)I share a number of friends in both Satanic and Wiccan societies...the incident where I may have caused the death of another could have been purely coincidental. As for myself I study such religious cults, but do not partake in their rituals.

3)I have never played football for any amount of my school life. I was a lifeguard and on the swim team, though. When at the boat docks it was my girlfriend's necklace that had fallen into the water. I retrieved it after the boat had set off. I am gentleman not a suicidal mental case...lol. I would know better than to come close to a boat while reaching down by it.

Your TURN

message 500: by Charlene (new)

Charlene Moncrief | 34 comments I am clearly a horrible liar (which is both a good and bad thing.)

But, I will give it a go and try again!

1. I once had a Pulitzer Prize winning author tell me I was a very good writer.
2. I spent the first two years of my college life as a geology major before realizing that rocks were REALLY boring.
3. I was almost kidnapped in the fourth grade.

Aaaand go!
