Eros (spiritually_evolving_always) | 566 comments number two is correct. Well done roger. I am far to nice to humiliate anyone in real life or on the web. It seems degrading to someone to do such a thing to anyone. I would much rather whisper in her ear and tell her to fix it immediately free of charge given I feel the piece is a disaster. I haven't even gotten my stylist to do my hair in about two months...SO it couldn't have happened anyway.

Roger Kean | 17278 comments I will take up my turn tomorrow morning, as it is election night here...

message 653: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Oh my gosh, will you look at that. Me promising on May 07 and now it's 12 May. Mea culpa.

1) My dad caught me with a half-drunk bottle of Gordons gin at a party when I was 15

2) I almost strangled to death my best friend

3) I've always been very even-tempered and non-violent.

Roger Kean | 17278 comments And you are… correct, Marcie! Many consider me even-tempered and non-violent but I'm sorry to say it hasn't always been so.

1) My dad caught me with a half-drunk bottle of Gordon's Gin on the top deck of the Ikoyi Club swimming pool teenage party in Lagos (he'd come to collect and drive me home). Being the man he was, he handed the bottle back over the bar, took me by the arm and led me off to the car park saying, "I hope the headache tomorrow morning will have been worth it…"

2) In connection with 3) I was pulled off a boy's neck when he was on the point of asphyxiating in my headlock. He'd been bullying me (verbally, not physically) for long enough. In true schoolboy fashion, we became the best of friends after.

Roger Kean | 17278 comments I can now reveal… and the winner is…

Kit!!
I'm ashamed to say I was caught doing 34.5 mph entering Stow-on-the-Wold in 1983 in a 30 mph area, and again doing 80 mph on the A40 nearing Oxford in 1986 when the speed limited was 60 mph (and Preston knows that Oli took the hit for me last year going to Wolverhampton, doing a measly 32 mph in a 30 mph zone).

1) is true as I know from Facebook, all dating from the computer games magazine days, which means 2) has to be true as well :-))

Go for it, Kit!

message 669: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe lol Roger I pretty much always add five miles to the speed limit when I see a speed limit sign

1. I have been off-task during a very busy day at work
2. I have read books at work before
3. I have watched netflix at work before

message 670: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Hmmm… well, I'm only comfortable at 85 mph !!

Absinthe Roger you're right...When we're busy I'm always on task, but when we're not I try to bullshit a few things and if we just don't have it I'll read, watch netflix, browse the internet.

message 675: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Kay! Just finishing a first draft of a long history of a British games software publisher… It's slow work…

1) I aced Sonic the Hedgehog

2) I aced Jet Set Willy

3) I found the mysterious Lunar Jet Rover in the game Lunar Jetman

message 680: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments In spite of being the founding editor of Britain's two biggest selling magazines devoted to computer games, I actually played very few games, but I complete both Jet Set Willy on the Sinclair ZX Spectrum and Sonic the Hedgehog on Sega Genesis many times.

But I never found the widely rumored lost Lunar Rover in Ultimate Play The Game's Lunar Jetman because, in spite of many hoax findings, there never was one.

So Preston is right and so would Kit have been…

message 681: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments 1. I still have my handmade folk art crèche (made in Mexico) out because I like the earthy colors and simplicity of the figures.
