Eros (spiritually_evolving_always) | 566 comments haha just checking mate.

1) I'm a recovering drug addict four years clean of drugs & pills.

2) When I needed to get some frustrations out I would skeet shoot. I won three tournaments before dropping out.

3) The first thing I'm doing with my first paycheck is buy a number of flower assortments to plant a flower bed and show my appreciation to the woman who has taken me in and treated me as one of her own children.

#3 is also true. her heart condition led to an emergency surgery.

so that means #1 is the lie. you win, rick!

All you can do is take it a day at a time. I've a good friend in AA, it works for him. I hope you have a good support network to help you through. I know how much of a struggle it is just living day-to-day can be, you have my admiration for making it 4 years. There are a lot of people who couldn't do that.

message 917: by Eros (new)

Eros (spiritually_evolving_always) | 566 comments thanks Rick, but no i have no support group or anyone who really cares for what I've been through. I kept it a secret from my parents they just presumed I had no way of getting ahold of them for so long and just randomly staarted talking again. No one in my family or friends notice my disappearances because I realize it is wrong I keep out of touch when I do such things. I came to te realization I shouldn't do things like drugs to simply numb emotional pains. I should be happy I'm alive and be happy with my life. I don't need drugs to be happy. I had one good friend who only knew me for a week and kept me at his house to get me off drugs. I stayed out of school for three months during my quitting days and after a lot of orange juice, cold showers, and chocolate I managed to get off of it. I nearly got kicked out of school, but I trusted my English teacher enough to tell her about my struggle and she seemed to accept that I was getting better for me and saw I was trying my best to better myself. She helped me graduate. I oh my life to a stranger and a teacher. I would be no where or six feet under if not for those two. It was people like that who made me realize I need to live life for me and not numb my world with temporary relief I helped myself to life and it seems to have given back to me recently. Things are really gettign in order for me now and I'm rather proud of myself without wnating to sound prideful or vain.

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Jacob wrote: "Things are really gettign in order for me now and I'm rather proud of myself without wnating to sound prideful or vain."

It isn't vain or prideful to be proud of any accomplishment, Jacob, especially if it is the conquest of inner yearnings for things that are actually harmful. :-)

message 919: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments Just a reminder, see message 912. It's still Rick's turn. Also somehow he's under the impression the winner gets a chicken. There's no chicken here. Everyone is of legal age.

message 920: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments @ Rick, 1), obviously… (No Kentucky? No chicken then)

message 921: by Rick (new)

Rick | 15794 comments @Jacob - help can come from the strangest places sometimes. Often we just have to be willing to accept it when it's offered. That means we might have to make ourselves vulnerable. There's no easy answer for when to let our guard down and when not to. I've been on both sides of that and have my own share of good and bad experiences.

@Preston - Fine, no more exclamations about getting a chicken dinner. Party pooper. And now, the winner (but Preston says there's no ... Well, yeah) is ...

Jacob

I've lived in Illinois, California, Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas, Ohio & Michigan - but not Kansas.

Jacob, you are the winner! (sorry no chicken dinner, the moderator has typed)

message 922: by Eros (new)

Eros (spiritually_evolving_always) | 566 comments Yeah I win!!! and thanks guys for the support :)
Wait I was expecting a chicken dinner well my days ruined now.

1) I prefer Dr. Enuf to Dr. Pepper, but like both.
2) I prefer Herbal Dr. Enuf to Original Dr. Enuf, but like both.

2) Herbal Dr. Enuf by far is my favorite.

3) Is the lie!!! I love both Dr. Enuf and Dr. Pepper above all other soft drinks.

If the lenth of time since the start of the universe to the present day were compressed into a single calendar year. So that the Big Bang occurs on Jan 1st. Which of these statements would be not be true.

July 5th is approximately when Dark Energy begins to dominate gravity in the universe

August 31st is the 'birthday' or our sun and solar system

November 30th is the 'death day' of the dinosaurs on earth

message 928: by Eros (last edited Jul 05, 2015 06:34PM) (new)

Eros (spiritually_evolving_always) | 566 comments 3) is the lie
Given that I actually did a science project for a science fair one year about this:
The dinosaurs would have began life on December 23rd or 24th
The end of them occurred by December 29th or so.
Mankind does not occur until December 31st going through it's entire life cycle up into the next cosmic calendar year.

Mankind and the existence of true lifeforms on Earth are a minor fraction of what has become of the entire cosmic universe in it's existence.

If someone else desires to challenge this logic you can read a book on it or watch a documentary about it. I was in 8th grade when I did it. One of the most fascinating things ever. If you correct me clearly my facts have been misguided through the years and we are working on two different calendars...

message 929: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments Um...2(?)

message 930: by Rick (new)

Rick | 15794 comments You are correct Jacob. The dinos bite the big one on Dec 30th of the Cosmic Calendar in one of the mass extinctions that have occurred in earth's time of hosting life forms. Mankind's history has only tken place in the last few seconds of Dec 31st. Very humbling.

Take it away Jacob!

message 933: by Eros (new)

Eros (spiritually_evolving_always) | 566 comments Yay! Who knew something I taught myself finally paid off.

1) I am more of an Omnist than anything else.
2) I am technically a Christian Wiccan or more properly known as a Trinitarian Wiccan
3) I am an Satanist

(For those of you who become offended by my personal beliefs I apologize and do not wish for any conflict. If this displeases you simply avoid conversation with me.)

message 934: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments #2 – I don't think diehard members of CD are easily offended :-)

message 935: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe 3 (though Satanist don't believe in Satan, so its entirely plausible, its more like a type of humanism)

message 936: by Rick (new)

Rick | 15794 comments Well, I guess I'll pick #1 (by default)

;)

message 937: by Eros (new)

Eros (spiritually_evolving_always) | 566 comments Absinthe WINS!!!

3)I am not a Satanist. However I have many friends who are. And to them and myself there are in fact two forms of satanism. The religion and the humanism. I was referring to what we believe as the religion. The humanism is simply the belief that there is no other moral authority than mankind. The religion delves deeper into the more "cult" aspects of all religions involving ritualistic gatherings, much like Christians attend church, and other ceremonial rites that take place throughout the calendar year.

Most would argue there is no difference between humanism and satanism, but myself and several others hold conflict to such an argument.

2) I technically am a Trinitarian Wiccan holding strong loyalties to both Christian and Wiccan values I am certainly not a traditionalist in the aspect of being Trinitarian Wiccan. I hold more aspects of the Christian bible to heart. I do not believe entirely in Christianity and Satanism not for the aspects of which they worship so much as they values of which they call one another out on. There are many missing aspects and books of the Holy Bible that many countries have deemed unsuited for orthodox religion. Christians say their book is God's true word...and Satanist follow their own which is more than symmetrically similar to the Holy Bible with different perspectives and added books which were not rejected.
I do practice Wiccan rites of magic and ritual as well.

1) As an Omnist I accept all religions. This does not mean I worship and practice all religions, but if I were invited to I would not say no.

message 938: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe woop woop! as a philosophical satanist and druid I give you a high five of awesomeness, Jacob!

1. My partner moved in yesterday
2. My house was put up for sale yesterday
3. I moved to a new house yesterday

message 939: by Rick (new)

Rick | 15794 comments If #2 is the lie, then others seem contradictory, so I'm thinking #1or #3 is the lie, if you'd just moved you'd probably still be working on getting things settled - so I pick #3 as being the lie

message 940: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Nah… definitely #1

message 941: by Eros (new)

Eros (spiritually_evolving_always) | 566 comments I vote two because I think Absinthe did move into her new house and her partner moved in with her as well. Her house could have easily already been on the market if she has just moved. That is if by moving she means already unpacked and settled.

message 942: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe you're right Rick, 3 is the lie.

My partner moved in yesterday and we put the house up for sale because we bought a new house, but it needs renovations done before we move in

message 943: by Rick (new)

Rick | 15794 comments I don't drink coffee because:

2) I had a caffeine ovedose and was ordered to give it up by my doctor
3) I like Tea better

Marcie | 7096 comments ooh i know this one! but...#2

message 947: by Rick (new)

Rick | 15794 comments Well, I do like tea better so that's no the lie. I did have a caffeine overdose that nearly landed me in the hospital. I was working at a coffee shop (Grounds for Thought in Bowling Green Ohio, look it up) were I was night manger, barista and a certified Master Roaster. It was that last thing that was the problem. You see roasting coffee burns off the outer layers of the beans as chaff. This stuff has caffeine in it as well and I was sampling a cup form pretty much every batch I roasted, as well as drinking coffee like I always had and soda as well. So was basically drinking the equivalent of several pots of coffee a day AND inhaling the stuff through the airborne chaff. At one point my digestive system just shut down and anything I ate just went right through and was expelled as fast as my body could get rid of it. I lost about twenty pounds in a week (and I'm not a big guy to begin with). Needless to say things looked bad (and so did I). My doctor took me off fruit, milk and coffee for a week. Things stabilized and then I was allowed to add one of those things back each week, my choice. Week 1 was fruits. No problem. Week 2 was milk. No problem (good because I LOVE cheese). Week 3 I added coffee and the whole started again within hours! So for five years I was caffeine free (except for a candy bar one in awhile) - no soda, no coffee, no tea, nothing. None I do enjoy an occasional cup of coffee (Kenya AA is my favorite, and the blend I invented at GfT {which they still sell} Kilimanjaro Blend, had I known it would become so popular I'd have named it Rick's Kilimanjaro Blend) and soda, but I adore my teas. I'm quite obsessed with tea now. So #3 & #2 are true and #1 is a big fat lie.

Absinthe wins!
