Absinthe 3 is the lie, take it Marcie!

Marcie | 7096 comments My daughter had one of her BFF's sleepover during the weekend. They...

1) had a snail race.

2) caught lizards.

3) climbed trees.

Rick | 15794 comments I'm just going to make a guess that #2 is the lie. No particular reason.

Marcie | 7096 comments I heard them screaming on the side of the house. So I went to look to see what the commotion was. They had snail lined up on the floor and screaming their encouragements. I lmao! But not so much when they walked in with lizards in one of my Tupperware containers :/

Daing Rog, you iz on a roll. Go for it, dude!

Roger Kean | 17278 comments I'm in such an honest mood today I don't think I can lie… but I'll try.

1) Tomorrow I must drive to Hereford

2) Tomorrow I must drive the Shrewsbury

3) Tomorrow I will have a McDonald's "Big Tasty" for lunch

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Well done, Rick! You guessed right.

I'm not going to Hereford. I'm going to Shrewsbury (Oliver driving) with my mother who is having a CT scan, which she wanted at Hereford cos it's much nearer, but her doctor in his wisdom sent her to Shrewsbury. That means we'll be having lunch at Shrewsbury's Meole Brace mall, at the McDonald's there.

Incidentally, Shrewsbury Town Football Club has its new stadium just behind the complex, having moved there from their long-standing stadium at the Gay Meadow.

Rick | 15794 comments When I was a toddler:

1) I pushed my own stroller everywhere, I couldn't sit in the thing I had to keep moving.

2) I used to carry a box of Fruit Loops with me everywhere I went.

3) I had stuffed Tiger, named Hadji, that went with me everywhere I did.

Rick | 15794 comments Roger wrote: "Well, it has, by deduction, to be #3 (though I have a horrible feeling that could be a truth :)"

Roger you're right, except it's not "a truth." As a toddler I did carry around a box of Fruit Loops everywhere I went and I hated sitting still in my stroller so I was always climbing out of it and pushing it around. I even got so ornery about it I pushed it out of a store (astonishingly employing the assistance of some man who helped me open the door) and down the street before my mother realized I was not by her side. Luckily she caught up with me somewhere down the block. I don't remember any of this, but I've heard the story of the Fruit Loops and the story of the stroller so many times over the year I fell like I do recall them both. ;)
Alas I had no stuffed Tiger named Hadji. Maybe I need to go get one to sit beside my stuffed monkey, Abu. ;)

It's your turn Roger. Lie to us. ;)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments A lie, a lie… my kingdom for a lie…

In my time I have played on stage…

1) Portia (Merchant of Venice)

2) Julius Caesar (Julius Caesar)

3) The White Rabbit (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland)

message 1372: by Rick (new)

Rick | 15794 comments Shakespeare... Hmmm

1) I've long had the notion of adapting Shakespeare's plays and setting them in the US wild west during the late 19th century.

2) I've always wanted to continue the process of translating Shakespeare's plays into Klingon like The Klingon Hamlet.

3) I've always thought it would be fun to adapt Shakespeare's plays and set them on Mars in the distant future after the planet has been colonized.

So, I'll go with #2

O.o
I'd forgotten all about that rabbit. Now I've got to dig out that DVD. Hrm, where are those Japanimation DVDs?

You got it. That's the lie. I don't known Klingon well enough to even attempt a translation. ;)

message 1379: by Monika (new)

Monika | 3337 comments Okay, so I'll continue with the theme...

1. I played some kind of a vegetable in kindergarten.
2. I wanted to play Juliet but they chose someone shorter.
3. I didn't want to play Athena but was forced to do it.

message 1383: by Monika (new)

Monika | 3337 comments I did play some kind of a vegetable in kindergarten, don't remember what exactly, and I'm sure it was green, but generally I hated playing and never voluntarily participated in it. I was chosen to play Athena because of my tomboy look. And only because of that. No one asked if I wanted to do it or not. I had a minor role but I hated every second on the stage. And then I was extremely pissed when I saw Immortals and there was this little blonde playing Athena :/

Your turn Absinthe ;)

Rick | 15794 comments Monika wrote: "... And then I was extremely pissed when I saw Immortals and there was this little blonde playing Athena :/"

That was such an offensive movie. It was as racist a film as 300 (Snyder, 2007) was homophobic (which was compounded by the fact that it was simultaneously enormously homo-erotic). Just count this as my complaint for the day. ;)

Monika | 3337 comments But... but that would mean you had hair to your knees... Damn, I need a pic to believe it! ;D

While driving:
1. I try to obey the speed limits
2. I often drive faster than it's allowed
3. I usually drive below the limits

message 1391: by Rick (new)

Rick | 15794 comments All three could be, and probably are, true.

I'll go with #2

message 1392: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments #1 the operative word here is "try", which implies failure… and means Rick is right :-)

Monika | 3337 comments Well, gentlemen, you're both unfortunately wrong and the lady is right 'cause #3 is a lie.
I try to obey the speed limits but usually drive faster, and I hardly ever drive below the limits.

Your turn Marcie :)

Preston | 20148 comments 10 days have passed and Kit is too busy eating toasted pastry so she forfeits this turn. Yummy. Better to eat treats than to play games so lucky Kit :)

I hereby declare that it's Roger's turn because there's no Thanksgiving in England so he might have nothing to do tomorrow without the task of having to catch a turkey then go stuff it.

Roger Kean | 17278 comments I can't lie on Thanksgiving Day
But when Mod commands, I obey.

1) My favorite ice cream flavor is pistachio

2) My second favorite ice cream flavor is vanilla

3) My third favorite ice cream flavor is fish ’n’ chips

Rick | 15794 comments #3 sounds as appealing as the experiment in the 80s of broccoli ice cream. While I like ice cream & broccoli the mixture makes me think of chocolate & peanut butter which is another combination everyone seems to like that I can't stand.
