Rick | 15794 comments I'm betting #1 is the lie.

message 1653: by Roger (last edited Jan 07, 2016 12:58AM) (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments I have to go with #3 but I think Preston is right…

message 1654: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe ok well you're right roger, three is correct but I'm highly insulted that everyone thinks I barely read...especially since this is the second time that Preston has picked such an option D:<

message 1655: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Of course you read, Kit, lots and oodles… :)

1) I posted a photo of my fifth rainbow in three weeks on FB yesterday.

2) I will do the weekly grocery shop this Friday morning.

3) I will do the weekly grocery shop tomorrow.

message 1656: by Rick (new)

Rick | 15794 comments #1 - as I have no idea what "FB" refers to,it MUST be a lie. (F-A-B, Roger, F-A-B) ;)

message 1659: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Marcie you are right because I did post my 5th rainbow pic and I will do the grocery shopping tomorrow, so 2 is the lie.

Ok. Need to take daughter to basketball practice. But I'll be back. Peace out, homes!

Rick | 15794 comments Roger wrote: ""Firebird Three to Brains, come in, Brains…""

Don't you mean "Thunderbird Three..."? ;)

message 1662: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments Yuli (my daughter) had a basketball game today and..

1. They won 56-8.

2. Yuli had a triple-double.

3. They gave her a flagrant foul during the 4th quarter.

message 1663: by Rick (last edited Jan 09, 2016 09:07PM) (new)

Rick | 15794 comments 56-8! That's like a Harlem Globetrotters spread! I'll say they won but not by that much! ;)

message 1664: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments #3 because I'd rather think she accumulated a double digit number total in three of five statistical categories—points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocked shots—in a game than she had a foul that was "considered flagrant when it involves excessive or violent contact that could injure the fouled player."

I have no idea what any of that means, but it sounds impressive. I wish I had come up with that. ;)

It was Friday, what do you expect? I was thinking of Fireball XL5… obviously :)

message 1668: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments 1. They did win 56-8.

2. She did have a triple-double. Like Pres said, she accumulated double digits in 3 out of the five which were: points, assits, & steals.

3. She did not receive a flagart. Though she did get a couple of fouls when she went in for the rip to steal the ball. Booooo refs! Preston, you win!

Marcie | 7096 comments :)

For a while now...

1. I've been considering deleting my social media accounts.

2. I've been considering not reloading my Amazon gift card.

3. I've been considering getting a gym membership.

message 1677: by Monika (new)

Monika | 3337 comments hmmm, 1 sound like a lie to me ;))

message 1678: by Rick (new)

Rick | 15794 comments I'll go with #2. Amazon.com is evil.

message 1679: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Oh well… #3 then :)

message 1680: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments #3 I agree with Roger. As the mother of two active children you don't need a gym membership.

message 1681: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments I am thinking of doing 1&2. As for #3, Preston is 1/2 correct ;) . I don't know where I would find the time to do so. But I do need it :) Go for it, Roger!

message 1682: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Just tell one little white lie…

After the warmest (and wettest) December on record, Britain is about to get Arctic weather… that really is wind blowing straight down from the North Pole.

1) It always looks so pretty, I love when it snows.

2) It can look pretty but I don't like snow.

3) A heavy snowfall accounted for my only major limb breakage.

Monika | 3337 comments hmm, 3?

message 1684: by Rick (new)

message 1688: by Roger (last edited Jan 12, 2016 08:49AM) (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Yeah, you did Rick, and you're right!. I hate snow! It broke my arm!

message 1690: by Rick (new)

Rick | 15794 comments More sad news:

1) A friend of mine just died in the last week

2) The father of a friend of mine just died in the last week

3) An ex-boyfriend of mine just died in the last week

message 1691: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments Oh snap...sorry Rick.

#1

message 1693: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments #3 …

message 1694: by Rick (new)

Rick | 15794 comments Roger wrote: "#3 …" and Roger is correct. This is the lie. Technically the same person qualifies for both #1 & #2. The father of one of my best friends died last week. He was also a friend and was the former mayor of Bowling Green and a long serving County Commissioner. It was actually a blessing though as he had been suffering from Alzheimer's for many years. It's difficult to see someone who you've known for over 30 years when they don't know who you are.

So take it away Roger.

message 1695: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments A former employee is paying us a visit this weekend.

1) In spite of that we hardly know him.

2) We know him all too well and he is not at all a friend.

3) We know him very well and he is a friend.

message 1696: by Rick (new)

Rick | 15794 comments I'm gonna say #3 is the lie, other combinations seem too contradictory.

message 1697: by Absinthe (new)

message 1699: by Roger (last edited Jan 14, 2016 12:28AM) (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Oh crikey Mickey, I really screwed up this time! #3 is true and the other two are lies (hangs head in shame)…

I suppose, since he got it so completely wrong (but honestly) it ought to be Rick's turn to put the game straight again after I bent it.

>slinks away like Gollum, never to be heard from again… until the sequel<

message 1700: by Rick (last edited Jan 14, 2016 02:41PM) (new)

Rick | 15794 comments So #3 was true, but I won because I called it a lie, but it would have been correct had the game been Find the truth? I can live with that. ;)

While I'm in the middle of over a dozen books, the one I expect will be the next I finish is:

1) A Cure for Cancer: The Cornelius Quartet 2
2) The Satyr of Capri
3) Secret Wars
