Marcie | 7096 comments mm...you can only finish one of those first, yeah? So by picking the lie that would leave 2 books that you would finish at the same time. Damn. You're good, Rick ;)

Are you doing the "Roger"? ;-) I'll go w/#3

message 1702: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe 2 because it sounds too interesting to not finish soon :P

AND MARCIE WINS! I do NOT expect that the next book I will finish is A Cure for Cancer: The Cornelius Quartet 2 but either of the other ones are possible. Go for it Marcie! ;)

Marcie | 7096 comments *shock gasp* I win? ;-P

1. I rather prefer to be able to pop-up with inconvenient hard-ons than have a menstrual cycle.

2. At times I wish my vehicle would be able to slide a glass divider to separate the front seats from the back ones.

3. I think having a bunch of daughters would of been fun.

message 1707: by Rick (new)

Rick | 15794 comments Hmm. #3 perhaps. ;)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Hmm too… perhaps #2

message 1710: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments A week ago I had a car load of girls. I took my daughter and five of her friends to the movies. My son and I were this close to jumping out of the window ;). Hence why I wish my car had a divider. As for the bunch of daughters comment... Yeah, I'm cool with my one son & daughter;). And yes, bring on the wood ;)

Go for it Ricky Ricardo

Rick | 15794 comments ROTFLMAO!

1) I'm in the middle of Bates Motel - Season 3 and Norman is scaring me shitless while simultaneously making scream with hysterics. I love this show!

2) I just finished the second season of House of Cards (US). Kevin Spacey is an acting GOD!

3) I've decided that nothing can top Jessica Lange singing David Bowie, so I'm not even going to watch American Horror Story Hotel. Besides spooky hotels and motels have been done already (The Shining and Psycho (Hitchcock, 1960)), so what's the point?

Rick | 15794 comments Absinthe wrote: "3"

Congratulations! You've successfully found the LIE! Bates Motel is fantastically creepy and funny all atthe same time and when Norma (Vera Farmiga) and Norman (Freddie Highmore) start in on each other, you can just SEE the crazy pouring off them like waves of heat. It becomes a tangible thing. There are other times the show gets a little too Buffy or Scoobie-doo, but I just love watching these two spiral out of control. It's a train wreck in the truest sense of the word and Farmiga and Highmore just feed off each other like frenzied sharks! As for House of Cards (US)? I could watch Kevin Spacey pick his nose and be entranced. And Robin Wright is just as charismatic. It is mesmerizng watching these two portray lizards walking around like humans. High expectations for season three. Very high. And then there's American Horror Story Hotel. I love AHS so much that nothing will stop me from watching this as soon as I can. Which, unfortunately, isn't going to be anytime soon. And certainly not as soon as I'd like. So Absinthe wins as my stated ambivalence was the lie. ;)

message 1717: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe sorry for the wait!

1. I've entered a reading slump for non-fiction books
2. I've entered a reading slump for fiction books
3. I've been checking a lot of books out from the library

message 1721: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe yup Monika, 1 is the lie...I am greatly enjoying non-fiction books, but even though the fiction books I've been trying to read are good, I just don't have much interest in them right now. Despite this, I'm still checking out a lot of books...

Monika | 3337 comments :D

1. I own a bike
2. I own a motorbike
3. I own a car

message 1723: by Rick (new)

Rick | 15794 comments Hmm. I'm gonna say #3.

message 1724: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments #2 (four wheels good; two wheels bad)

message 1725: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe 1

message 1726: by Monika (new)

Monika | 3337 comments I would love to own a motorbike but I know myself enough to not buy one. I like fast ride too much for it to be safe for me. So, double win for you Roger :)

message 1727: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments 1) I have just sewn a button on a pair of short pants that came away one week ago.

2) I have just sewn a button on a pair of short pants that came away three weeks ago.

3) I'm a man, I haven't a clue how to sew on buttons that come away.

message 1728: by Monika (new)

Monika | 3337 comments well, I hope #3 is a lie ;)

message 1729: by Rick (new)

Rick | 15794 comments Monika wrote: "well, I hope #3 is a lie ;)" I agree, and it has to be the lie, because you can't sew a button back on and not know how to sew. But I'll say #2 just to keep thing rolling along. :p

message 1730: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe 1

message 1731: by Roger (new)

Rick | 15794 comments SNICKERDOODLES! - I'm on my way!

#3

message 1735: by Monika (new)

Monika | 3337 comments Yes, Rick, you're right #3 is a lie.
btw, it's your fault I've made both snickerdoodles and ginger snaps, you mentioned them in another game ;))

message 1736: by Rick (new)

Rick | 15794 comments Bwahahahahaha! My evil plan is working! ;)

1) I watched Fright Night (Holland, 1985) today because Roger got me all wound up to see Roddy McDowell as Peter Vincent & Stephen Geoffreys as Evil Ed again.

2) I haven't finished the first season of Daredevil yet, but it's awesome so far!

3) I got to watch the pilot for the new series Legends of Tomorrow and it's the best superhero TV show ever made (IMNSHO)!

message 1737: by Absinthe (new)

Absinthe 2....i feel like you have watched it

Marcie | 7096 comments 3

message 1740: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments All best taken, but I'll second Marcie. And I am sincerely sorry for arousing Stephen Geoffreys passions again, Brüster.

message 1741: by Rick (new)

Rick | 15794 comments Marcie wrote: "3" And you're correct! I watched the first episode of Legends of Tomorrow and was rather disgusted by the whole thing. One of the biggest problems was the manufactured way they tried to have Doctor Who moments without the investiture of 50 years of continuity and fans. The special effects came across as lame and the sets looked like rejects from every all the bad sci-fi shows since 1979s atrocious Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. And one of the "heroes" drugs his companion, kidnaps him and doesn't see a thing wrong with this behavor. Seriously? This is family television drama on America. No wonder a sociopath like Donald Trump get cheers when he says he could murder someone on live television and his ratings wouldn't drop.

So Marcie correctly spotted the lie (and Roger too)!

message 1742: by Marcie (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments 1. Yuli (my 10yo daughter) has s habit of constantly responding to me with song lyrics.

2. Dani (13yo son) and I will randomly start singing a song with the intention of the other joining in and adding the next verse.

3. Whenever I turn on the radio and select a station/song the kids will be like, "Um, can you change it and put cool music instead? ."

message 1743: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Got to be #3 — you're way too cool not to play and sing cool songs!

message 1744: by Absinthe (new)

message 1750: by Marcie (last edited Jan 25, 2016 03:25PM) (new)

Marcie | 7096 comments Omg! Yuli never fails to come up w/lyrics to whatever word I (or others) use during whatever situation it may be. Half the time I'm trying to keep a straight face & not burst out laughing while I'm trying to lecture her/them. And my kids have my eclectic taste in music. So that leaves 3 as the lie. Roger wins! And Rick gets 2nd place ;)
