The Name of the Wind question

In this book the main charachter is called one of the Edema Ruh. There's is also a song by the band Nightwish that is called the same. The lyrics tells us the same as in the book. The Edema Ruh knows story's and songs, wich you will take back home if you see or hear one. Does that mean the Edema Ruh is inspired by a real folk in history?
