I've just finished with the book. Were you guys ok with the bad cops parallel? I felt it was too contrived. Esp when Granger has his group of cronies waiting for Eddie and then take him out, Would cops really go after a lawyer to mete out revenge for a paltry sum?
2, Who were they taking orders from when they decide to bump him off in a shootout?

I had to re-read the last chapter since I finished the book at 3:30 am...couldn't put it down. Due to the fact, that at first, I was unsure who was the "person helping" Kane until I read that Holten was Russell Partland and Kane was impersonating the older juror, Bradley Summers. That totally surprised me as I was thinking Kane was impersonating Alec, the younger guy.
Great read. Loved it!

--I believe Rudy Carr's firm barely got started on the case or at least we were not privy to what was going on there...other than the studio was paying for Rudy's firm. We must assume that Holten was already hired on by Rudy's firm as security to follow and guard the laptops. And Kane trying to steal the laptop was to get as much info as possible so that once he got on the jury, he would have more ammo to persuade the other jurors to vote his way-- in my opinion.

I personally feel that Mr Cavanagh hadn't thought through the entire nitty-gritty. He just wanted to bring in the twists without any logical base.
Recently I've read a Mary Higgins book: You Don't Own Me. its a highly predictable book, but all the twists have a logical flow to it. we are given indicators to why an individual is a suspect. That is where I believe this book fails.

Have you been watching the news lately? It seems that they don't need any basis for their hatred.

Personally, I didn't find anything illogical in the twists. I loved the unpredictability. I love to be blindsided. We're all different! *:)
