Jackaby by William Ritter
It won the YALSA Best Fiction for Young Adults Top Ten for 2015.

A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness
Winner of YALSA Best Fiction for Young Adults Top Ten for 2012
I just read my first one in this category. When Everything Feels Like the Movies by Raziel Reid. It won the Governor General's Literay Award. It was also runner-up for the Canada Reads competition. A tough subject and very graphic but a good read.

Hi Rebecca, I just noticed that you listed this one under historical fiction and also under Prize Winners. Since you can only apply one category per book, do you want to keep this here or under Historical?

Well, I missed it at first too, so it's not just you! ;-)
Okay, I removed it from the Prize Winners category and kept in under Historicals which closes out that category for you, good job!

Ken Bruen is one of my very favorite authors. I can read his books in a single sitting!

I'll be reading a lot more of his stuff in the near future.

Elizabeth Is Missing by Elizabeth Is Missing - winner of the Costa Book Award for a First Novel 2014
Doctor Sleep by Stephen King - winner of the Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in a Novel 2014
Apocalypse Cow by Michael Logan - winner of the Terry Pratchett Prize 2011

Beasts of No Nation by Uzodinma Iweala
It won several prizes, one of which was the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize for 2005.
This one was really tough to read...

And, I will note, in keeping with my usual pattern, could also have been in Color in the Title, not to mention Historical (except I've finished that).

Did you love it or did you hate it, Connie? I have found there are really only two camps where this book is concerned...

I found it dragged a bit in spots but overall I liked it.
