Alba | 20 comments I finished the book last night and I loved it! The only thing I didn't like is that it ends so abruptly...I became so fond of the characters, specially Francie, that I just expected to keep hearing from her, but I also think it's good that it doesn't have the traditional 'and they lived happily ever after' ending.
I would recommend it to anyone because it's such an entertaining and rich reading with very realistic and human characters.

Simon (sorcerer88) | 108 comments I finished too, and I don't regret this read at all, quite wonderful. I agree, the pacing is often slow and i would have cut some chapters perhaps, this demands a lot of time at 500-odd pages.
but the conciseness of the writing, as i've written often enough, is really amazing, you couldn't cut a word (but maybe a whole chapter).
