Martijn Van beek | 5 comments I'm looking for a series of books, of which I remember the first book the best. The whole series, if I remember correctly, was loosely based on Irish folklore. Also, I believe they didn't call Ireland, well, Ireland, but something else.

This first book was about a (royal?) family with influence. One daughter and seven (I think? May have been a different number) sons. The sons are turned into swans by an evil sorceress and the daughter has to save them. To do so she has to make shirts out of nettles - one for each brother. She could not speak a word while doing so. There was a time limit, and in the end she made enough, except for one sleeve. One of her brothers (for some reason I think I remember that he was called Finnbar) got turned back into a human, except one arm - which remained a wing. Also there was a romance involved somehow, but then again, which book isn't about love?

I must have read these books at least ten years ago, if that helps, and I *think* they were already older books by then.
