Cindy | 38 comments I want to read at least two books per month. With my master thesis coming up, I think this should be doable.

Moreover, I want to read books from authors I haven't read anything before.
And last but not least I'd really like to read more classic and non-fiction literature.

Cassandra | 5832 comments What are you studying, Cindy?

Good luck with your reading challenge! Is there anything in particular you're looking forward to?

Currently I am studying business informatics in my last year. What are you studying, Cassandra?

Hmm... not yet really. There are some books I wanted to read for ages (e.g. Wuthering Heights, The World According to Garp, 1Q84 and many more), so maybe I should have a look into the monthly and yearly reading challenges :-).

Jodi (readinbooks) | 1971 comments I loved The World According to Garp. John Irving is one of my favourite authors.

Challenges are a really fun way to read. It is neat to see where your books fit into the different challenges and it encourages me to read different genres. Good luck.

Cassandra | 5832 comments 1Q84 is on my priority list for books to make sure to read this year. If you want to read it as a buddy read or something, I'm sure it would make a great one!

I'm studying informatics as well, actually. It's my first year of a BS, though. What a coincidence!

Alan Wilson | 36 comments I'm going for 25 books as well. I should probably have a look at some of the challenges

I've only read The Cider House Rules (which I really loved) and Hotel New Hampshire and they were both great. I think The World According to Garp will be one of my next books.

That's a cool idea, the buddy reading. Maybe I will do that in order to make sure that I will finally read it ;-).

Cool! Do you like it? Well, I have to admit I chose business informatics because it's not quite as technical as informatics.

Cindy | 38 comments Just finished the second book of the Edelstrein-Trilogie:
Saphirblau

message 11: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 38 comments I finished the thirs part of the Edelstein-Trilogie Smaragdgrün last Friday.

message 13: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 38 comments I finished the wonderul book Momo last weekend.

message 14: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 38 comments I just finished The World According to Garp.

Cindy | 38 comments Finished The Rosie Project, which was a quick and easy read. It reminded me a lot of Sheldon of Big Bang Theory... After all, it was ok for a quick read after it took me about 2 weeks to finish Garp.

Cindy | 38 comments I finished Fall of Giants yesterday and I really liked it. For me it was very interesting and I enjoyed the read.

I highly recommend the entire trilogy, but don't wait too long between books, because it took me awhile to remember where everything left off:)

Cindy | 38 comments I finished Schutzpatron on the weekend and The Life List yesterday.

Cindy | 38 comments I finished Der Steppenwolf which was a challenging read on Saturday. I think everyone can at some point identify with the main character Harry Haller, but in some parts it is just disturbing and weird...

message 21: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 38 comments I finally finished Winter der Welt by Kenn Follett. Which was an interesting read but I didn't enjoy it as much as the first part of the trilogy.

message 22: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 38 comments Wow, June and July do not seem to be good reading months. I finished Paper Towns on Monday. I liked it, but I think I expected more of it and in the end I rated it 3 stars.

Cindy | 38 comments Yay, finally finished The Goldfinch, this sure was a hard piece of work, but in the end I really liked it.
