Melody smiles at Dess then goes back to glaring at Destiny.

"Sure, but you did it willingly. I was taken captive against my will ." Melody throws a bolt at Destiny.

"If you don't mind me asking, but what are y'alls powers?" Dess asked curiously.

Melody rolls her eyes. "Well, mine is pretty obvious." Her hands continue to crackle with electricity.

Destiny dodges saying to Dess, ¨Mines emotion eyes¨ and then to Melody, ¨I’ve been doing it against my will since I was 5¨

Dess turns into an owl, flies upward, lands on a big branch, and turns human.

Melody looks down. "Sorry. About your brother, I mean. You told me."

¨It’s fine¨ Destiny says flatley

"Really? I've never heard of another shapeshifter." Dess said from the tree branch.

Melody leans back against the tree.

"Have you ever met anyone with the same powers?" Dess asked curiously.

¨Similar power, only she has emotion hair¨

"I think I've met her" Dess said.

¨Her name is Mirah¨

"I talked to her about books." Dess said.

¨Cool¨

"I told her about how emotional books can be, and my theory about how she can blame her emotions on a book if she doesn't want to be questioned about them." Dess said.

¨That does work, I use that excuse, along with the movie excuse. It’s just like your theory with books, but with movies¨ Destiny says

"I didn't think of movies." Dess said.

Melody taps her foot on the ground and zones out.

¨It works often¨

"I imagine it would." Dess said still in the tree.

¨I wonder what happened to Mirah¨

"I don't know. I've been napping as a kitten on a chair most of the day." Dess said with a slight laugh.

Melody absently twirls a strand of her hair around her finger, staring off into the distance.

¨I haven't seen her since last night¨ Destiny says, and then to herself, ¨Crap, that was last night.¨she then says to Dess, ¨I have to go, it was nice meeting you. Bye¨ then runs off

Melody watches her go. She looks up at Dess.

Chase comes out, ¨Oh, hello¨

"Hi" Dess calls from her position in the tree.

Melody rolls her eyes but says nothing.

¨How's your scars Melody?¨ she ask

Melody growls, getting off the tree.

Dess stays in the tree not wanting to get in between two people who seem to not like each other.

Melody puts a hand over the long, jagged line running from her elbow to wrist.

¨I didn't give them to ya, so don't get mad at me¨

Dess listened trying to figure out how the two people knew each other.

¨Besides, you got yourself captured¨

Melody scoffs. "No, I didn't." She digs her fingernails into her palms.
