Welcome to The Wize Wize Beasts of the Wizarding Wizdoms Buddy Read Discussion thread! This thread officially opens on July 20th in this thread but only up to the group's current reading place. Do not spoil the book if you've read further than the group. Any extra days can be used to catch up!

Each week we will be reading by chapters. The suggested Buddy Read discussion schedule is as follows:

Week of 7/20
July 20: Prologue + Chapters 1-2
July 21: Chapters 3-4
July 22: Chapters 5-6

I totally about this yaoi mangas with quick stories just to get the characters kissing and so, and how freaking possesive they always are.
I like that I least it has a reason that they are animals. Maybe not the first story, but at least the second and fourth.

Alan & Eddington: LOL Eddie has some weird ideas with Alan haha the part where he asks to kiss him XD I thought he would ask Alan to stop pestering him. But I'm glad Alan put him on his place, more or less. It wasn't nice to do that, Eddie.

Florio & Nicol: What a nice intro XD Florio hugging little Nicol. I love Nicol's short temper hahah And dumb fur-brained Florio. He just wants to eat and sleep.

Fermat & Emil: At first I asked myself what animals they were... just to see that they are dragons. I love the teacher's passion for maths, and how he tries to solve every problem with that. The ending though <3 Lovely.

Marley & Collette: I like the lizard's condition to cold weather~ This is the perfect excuse to get closer to each other lol I love the deer design a lot <3 This story was cute~ Well, other too, but this one was warm too.

I'm not sure how I'm feeling about the short story format. The only one that's gotten any sort of resolution so far has been the first story. I wanted to see Marley and Collette kiss 😭

Alan & Eddington: I was surprised the direction this story took too! I also got the impression that Alan bothered him lol. Guess I was wrong there. Wasn't a fan of this story because I hate stories where people drug others and do what they want with them in the name of love. I'm glad that at least Alan put Eddie in his place.

Florio & Nicol: This one was pretty cute. I found their size difference to be a little extreme, but I loved how cute Nicol was. I wish Florio would've spoken up but he's not the brightest so I understand why he doesn't get why Nicol's really angry with him lol.

Fermat & Emil: I had trouble figuring out what animal they were too! I wasn't expecting this story to also feature mythological creatures! I wish they had wings but I still really liked their designs. I usually don't like studentxteacher pairings since they're weird, but I couldn't help finding this one a little cute. I laughed at the ending when Fermat couldn't figure out what he was feeling 😂

Marley & Collette: This one's been my favorite so far. I loved the idea of a cold-blooded animal being helped by a warm-blooded animal. So cute! Marley's lizard design has been my favorite so far. Collette helping Marley get dressed and letting him use him to cuddle when he was cold was so adorable. Like I said earlier, I am not pleased that I didn't get to see them kiss lol.

I'm excited to read the rest of this manga and see what other pairings will appear. I'm going to take a break for now and try to get to the last four chapters tonight.

Yeah, the stories are so short and it makes me want to RP in a world like this! It would be nice to have a slice-of-life series about this ^^
Oh, The height difference between the wolf and the goat was extreme but also cute how someone so little can have that bad temper haha

Huey & Doug: Awn, Doug is too damn possesive :( I hate that he lies to stop the girls from going out with Huey, though I think he only impresses bird girls (and boys in this case too). If this was more adult it will probably be a toxic relationship.
I JUST LOVE DORK HUEY btw hahahah

Allhof & Carreras: Oooh the bat design <3 So cute and naughty Haha <3
But OMG how disgusting whas their food sharing haha
They remind me of the Hitachiin brothers from host club...
I loved the information of vampire bats. When I was little I was afraid of them (even if they don't even live near Spain) but it's nice to know they drink so little blood.

Cromwell & Benjamin: I reaaally love the owl's design <3 Okay, that wasn't an owl nor eagle but a gryphon. Love it more then <3 And a unicorn!
UGH really they banished a unicorn for not being perfect? Ugh *rolls eyes* I thought he would be sassy and openly gay, but it turns out it's not that way. Cromwell is so funny when he reacts like that haha!

Mauchly & Charles: So humans are mythical creatures? That's nice for an animal-based culture haha In fact humans seem more arrogant as they are only in contact between humans. They both remind me of Goldilocks and the bear ^^ This was a cute story!

Bonus: OMG How cute the two bats and the whale professor!
And that one last bonus comic between Mauchly and Charles represents me xD The bonus between the lizard and the deer was FUNNY. I imagined the lizard with the fur as a wig hahaha
I love that the author said that these stories have some animal characteristics, as I said before. That's the nice thing about writing and drawing furries~

Doug & Huey: I didn’t like this one that much. I don’t really like obsessive characters like Doug. I kind of feel bad for Huey, all he wants is someone to love him but Doug is screwing it up for him. I did like their designs though. Wish I would’ve enjoyed the story more since I love birds, but oh well!

Allhoff & Carreras: I really enjoyed this one! I love bats and I liked how the mangaka included their animal traits in the story. I am so glad they weren’t related cause you can never know with manga 😅

Cromwell & Benjamin: I was so happy Cromwell got his own story! He was appearing so often I was hoping he would. Surprised to find out he was a griffon though, I thought he was an owl XD I wish this story had been a little longer. I was sad seeing that homophobia is even present in this world. I wish it wasn’t, poor Benjamin. I also found Cromwell’s reactions pretty funny. He got called out at the end there by Benjamin 🤣🤣

Mauchly & Charles: This one was too adorable and made me want to know more about the world they live in. The scene when Mauchly comforts Charles when he says he hates his freckles was the best. Such a sweet relationship. Oooh, I didn’t notice the Goldilocks similarities but now that you bring it up I see it!

Bonus: These extras were pretty funny! Alan purring was super cute and I loved seeing little Nicol being cuddled by giant Florio! I was getting a Pooh Bear vibe from Mauchly so that extra was spot on lol! I also liked how the author included animal characteristics to go with their characters.

Overall, I enjoyed most of the stories. I know this is meant as just a single volume but I wish that there was another one that followed all of them again just so we could learn more about the world and see where each relationship goes.
