These Broken Stars

These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner promised a lot but failed to deliver. I love adventure stories set in space and from the description this book was all set to be one of them. Unfortunately, only the first few chapters are set on a space ship, the rest of the book entails the two main characters crashing on an undiscovered planet and trekking through the wilderness. The book also follows a formulaic pattern where at first they do not like each other, but through their journey they begin to fall in love. At this point, I’ve read too many stories that follow these narratives that it no longer interested me. If you like romance stories, though, you may really like this book.
