Jennifer, a part of my is really into History and Genealoogy. It makes for some very unusual reading choices at times. LOL From the very begining, I would read a book and it would reference a person place or event that was not the main theme of the book or main character whatever. It would make me search out another book for more information on that. It seems like every book brings up a new need to read more. I think I have printers ink flowing through my veins.
I like your choice for an author's first book. I quite enjoyed the other books I've read by Louisa May Alcott and I think I might have to look out for that one. :-)
I Just now edited my list for week 4. My book has not arrived yet so I am adding A Christmas Dance by Akissa Johnson. I will have at leaast one that canbe read this week That fits the category.
