Hi everyone. I'm checking in and looking forward to getting my reading groove back in August. I had a lot of stuff happen in August that wasn't good and it really threw my reading off. I'm all settled and ready to get back to knocking out some books 😊

If anyone ever looks to rent a house from an internet site please PLEASE investigate it thoroughly. You never want to live through what my family and I did this month. It was awful. We were scammed out of thousands of dollars and had to move out of a house that we had rented on the 3rd (we lived there for not quite 10 days). It was horrifying and devastating and I never thought anything like this could happen to me.

I'm happy to go with everyone else's view, but I don't think a spreadsheet is needed for this as mixed groups mean everyone reads at different paces. Some letters will be very easy to pick up, so as long as we keep track on the thread we should be able to stay on top of things.

Our first board is The Secrets We Keep by Trisha Leaver.
Looking at the upcoming boards, the letters 'W', 'K', 'P,' and 'Y' will be harder to pick off.

I agree with Karen. Take a letter as you finish a book and it will be easy enough to keep track of in the thread.

I've started my first book. It reads very easy, so hoping to finish in 2 days.

Posted my first review - claimed the P (trying to get the less easy ones - and got a couple of BRs on the go.

Just K and I to go on board 1 now. The more we can get done in the early weeks with the bigger spins the better - it's making a huge difference to the points.

I have a book finished that fits for either K or I! I'll write the review in a few and then post

Excellent going, Nicole. Just looking at your reviews, I'm not sure all of them will count separately. Right Under My Nose 2 and 3 are below the minimum page count, so will probably have to go together. That should mean we've completed Board 1 and L for Board 2. See what the mods say (I've put a note below your messages for 18 and 19)

Nicole, don't know if you've seen Sarah's message but one of your books couldn't be used as it was started in July.
We have now finished Board 1 and got L for Board 2.

Waw, I'm not a fast reader like others, but I'll finish one the day after tomorrow and see where it fits.

Saar, every book read counts. Mixing the teams up like Sarah’s done over the last few months can feel strange as we’ve got a mix of reading speeds. We’re in it together, so just claim for letters when you can.

I'm reading a large book and work has been kicking my butt lately but I should finish some in the next few days.

Hey you guys! Sorry I've had a crazy beginning of the month and then the Hurricane was crazy! I've been reading so I'll post soon! I'm currently reading

Board three is now complete. Some trickier letters for this next board - V, Y, F, B - so if anyone has anything for those, we should try and get them done first.
If anyone fancies setting up any Buddy Reads to get us some extra bonus points, I'd be happy to look at what I've got available.

Susan, you're absolutely right that we can use any letter. I'm so pleased as it makes it a lot easier than previously. Once we claim a letter it wipes all of those from the current title.

Interesting to see how the totals are constantly shifting and I can see the spin element is proving advantageous. This will be one of those months where I can see it's crucial to keep reading. I'm also looking to try and slot in some more Buddy Reads for additional points.
