Katie | 3379 comments Hello Team!!

I will be reading some books that won't get to count for this challenge because I read them 6-7 months ago, so I want to try really hard to have my other books I read be buddy reads to make up for those lost points.

If anyone knows what they want to read, please post them and I'll hopefully join you if I have them!

I know I'll need to get to these because I have them on hold:

Get a Life, Chloe Brown (The Brown Sisters, #1) by Talia Hibbert Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel

So if anyone would like to buddy read these, let me know! But I'm hoping to get more buddy reads filled up! Enjoy the end of July!

Mummy's Naughty Corner (mummysnaughtycorner) | 6951 comments Are we going to use a spread sheet or choose letters as we post

Tayane Cristie (taycristie) Mummy's Naughty Corner wrote: "Are we going to use a spread sheet or choose letters as we post"

I think it's best if we choose letters as we post, I'm afraid claiming letters in advance may hold us back because not everyone has the same reading speed.

Mummy's Naughty Corner (mummysnaughtycorner) | 6951 comments Yep I agree. Plus as we can use any letter in the title or authors name it means that it doesn't matter if we read for a letter and it's gone by the time we post as we have other letters to pick from if that makes sense.

Yes! Also, if the book doesn't have any letter that we need, we just have to save it for the next round.

message 15: by Tayane (new)

Tayane Cristie (taycristie) Not sure yet what I'm gonna be reading, but I really want to listen to these on audio:
Love Her or Lose Her (Hot & Hammered, #2) by Tessa Bailey Take a Hint, Dani Brown (The Brown Sisters, #2) by Talia Hibbert

If anyone wants to join me, Scribd says they're gonna be available for me from august 4th.

Jamie | 12271 comments Yes just post as we go I think is best. With the any letter option it should be quick. If we get a more rare letter (q, x,z, etc) that might hold us up we can just quickly discuss it or if you can cover it just let the team know. Any since we are a mixed pace of readers a claimed spreadsheet would be constantly changing most likely.

I hate using spreed sheets because all I do is post tones and then all I can see is my name everywhere. Plus I constantly have to move mine to fill gaps. Then I feel pressured to reads books that I no longer feel like reading as I chose them 2 weeks before and I'm no longer in the mood for.

Oh no, it's no fun to feel pressured to read books you don't want to. I don't mind doing it once in a while but too often becomes a hassle and I have a fallout with reading myself. And when you are one of the stronger readers, it can be easy to feel that gap filling falls mostly on you. We don't want that. I hope you have fun reading what you want this month! :)

message 20: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 12271 comments Just a reminder to those who normally hold back on posting, we have better chances for the big spins earlier on, so the sooner the better to post when possible.

Yea this is the month you want the letters filled as soon as possible.

Jamie | 12271 comments Theses are the BR's I have planned so far:
Morning Star (Red Rising Saga, #3) by Pierce Brown Shadow and Bone (The Shadow and Bone Trilogy, #1) by Leigh Bardugo The Gentleman’s Guide to Getting Lucky (Montague Siblings, #1.5) by Mackenzi Lee Bridle the Unicorn by Emmi Lawrence Obsidio (The Illuminae Files, #3) by Amie Kaufman
Plus a couple of the GBRs (very limited to what I can get my hands on with libraries closed).

Also if anyone wants to BR anything else with me, I'll be primarily reading books of this shelf: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

Mummy's Naughty Corner (mummysnaughtycorner) | 6951 comments I can do Freak of Nature (IFICS, #1) by Julia Crane (this is free on amazon uk) if anyone else wants to read it i just grabbed it.

Plus I can do Sleepeasy by T.M. Wright

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I'll mostly be continuing my Anita Blake books. I'll probably start with Blue Moon (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #8) by Laurell K. Hamilton and just read as many as I can.

There's also a small chance I might be moving end of August so that might interfere with my reading.

Shall we say 10th for freak and 13th for sleepeasy.

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments So since we have all decided that an SS is not for us. I was thinking it might be a good idea if after people have posted we post here and keep the puzzle up to date on our letters. That will minimize doubles. I will try to do that myself as much as possible but I'm not quite as active as I was and I'll be busy with the GBR thread and fairy thread. :)

message 41: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 12271 comments Good idea to keep up with letters needed for the current title letters.

message 42: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments It'll also help with the switch over between boards. People could also add their 'on hold' letters if they read something and it can't work for the current board. :)

message 43: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 12271 comments Yeah maybe if you read a book that doesn’t work to the curent title, we can post it here with review, br and page count and whenever we flip someone else can quickly post it I. Their behalf. Especially if that person can’t get back on daily.

That sounds good. :)

message 45: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments I've also posted some of the basic rules on the review thread for quick reference. If you guys see anything I should add let me know. I didn't want to post everything as it would take too long to read each time. ^_^

message 46: by Pragya (new)

Pragya (pragyaagr13) | 1236 comments My TBR for this month:
Windwitch (The Witchlands, #2) by Susan Dennard The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus, #1) by Rick Riordan An Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes, #1) by Sabaa Tahir

message 47: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 12271 comments Okay, so just so everyone is aware the letters we need for the first board title:
A, C, D, E, F, I, K, M, N, P, O, R, S, T, U

***Remember we can use ANY Letter in the title, series, or author names (subtitles are currently waiting on an answer from Sarah), in any language/edition that uses English letters.

message 48: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 22764 comments My first book will likely be Obsidian Butterfly (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #9) by Laurell K. Hamilton now so I can do U if it's still needed when I finish. It's a hefty book and I am still in the middle of reading my CR. :)

message 49: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 12271 comments Obsidio (The Illuminae Files, #3) by Amie Kaufman & Morning Star (Red Rising Saga, #3) by Pierce Brown are my first two BRS starting on the first but they are both good sized books and might take bit. We shall see. I'll look into an audiobook as well.

Mummy's Naughty Corner (mummysnaughtycorner) | 6951 comments I think that's a good plan of keeping track off the letters and holding books. I have no idea what I'm going to read first lol. Let's see what I can get read today.
