This book was required reading in my High school I wonder if i still have my copy. It would be fun to compare my notes from my high school days

I watched a movie in 1968 called "Charly" starring Cliff Robertson, which was based on this book. I've been wanting to read the book ever since.

I read this last year so I will not be rereading it with the group. It raises important questions and is very sad, interested to see what others will make of it.

Joining this read and very excited to (re)start the book.

The first time I got nearly half way through it was the audiobook version but I am definitely going print (with an ebook) this time for reasons that may become obvious and I would recommend it!

I'd like to start this book today 🙂 already had a peek at the first chapter, which made me curious as I never seen a movie nor read this book.

I think this is a book that's better to digest in written form than as an audiobook. I'll be very curious about your experience of it since you'll have tried both.

You guys convinced me to go out and buy the book. So I think I'm gonna start reading it today.

I thank this group for this monthly read. I am Italian so we don't read this book in school and know almost nothing about it. I found this book amazing. It's written perfectly, all the details are perfect, the character isn't always lovable or someone who we would identify with at all time, but nevertheless he is always true to what you would expect of him. The story was so moving and heartbreaking, I will suggest this book to everyone I know

joining the group and reading this book for the first time. i bought the english edition as it seems the best option to understand and appreciate the story(according to some reviews). let’s see how it goes!

I've literally never heard of this book, but I just read the summary and sounds like a trip, and it's available at my library, so I'm down. Gonna start reading now.

Finished it. Had never heard of it. Was a good read.
