Louie I just received my copy yesterday, so I can't wait to start it when I'm finished with my current read.

I'm still waiting on mine. I hope I get it in time to read it this month, but I may be a little late.

Louie I finished this a few days ago, and I truly enjoyed this delightful story filled to the brim with metaphors and intriguing characters. I was unsure on how much a beach would figure into the book, but I was happy to find quite a few scenes taking place there, including some especially important ones.

Leone Anderson (lcanderson) | 63 comments I really enjoyed the free verse setting of this book - the author's
use of eye-catching metaphors - the very real eleven-year-old Bailey and her understandable emotional reactions to her parents' break-up - and the ending which touches the heart.

Doesn't seem to be available as an ebook from either of my main library sources, so I probably won't be joining this discussion even rather late!

I've also struggled to find it. Sounds like a fun book, though.

I enjoyed this verse novel, but I won't find it difficult to give my copy away now that I'm done. It had good moments, but overall felt rushed. There were too many threads of plot and not enough time to do justice to all of them. The weird fantasy elements didn't fit with the contemporary feel to me.
