Any other topics you’d like to discuss? Your overall opinion of the story? The series? Ideas about the next book?

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments I really liked this series. It was in a location that I've only driven through on my way to Canada, so I wish I'd noticed more of the topography and thought about the people who live there. This continent is really vast. I hope there are more Mercy books!

Susan (cruelshoes) | 158 comments I do love the Mercy books however I have one complaint. Why with each book does it put Truman and or Mercy in harms way? Every book one or both get seriously harmed and the other sweeps in to save the day. This does not turn me off from the books but I just see the pattern

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments I loved this series and hate to wait for another book...but I'm glad there will be another one. I've never been to Oregon. This makes me want to visit it. I didn't realize Deschutes County and Bend were real places until I stumbled across an article that mentioned the county. That made me google it.

Thanks for all of your hard work, Jonetta.

Thank you, Robin! I added some pics of Bend as I also haven’t visited Oregon.

Susan, I noticed the same trend and wanted it to stop. The town’s just not big enough for this to happen that frequently.

Charlene, is the region as beautiful as those pictures show? It’s lovely.

I’ve loved this series and was very happy to learn another book is coming. Apparently, Elliot is going to tie it to her Columbia River series. Whatever, as long as we get more Mercy & Truman.

~Teresa I have loved reading this series, but I have to admit this has been my least favorite book. I had a problem with the un,professionalism of the agencies involved.

I love the series but felt this book was too over the top...unbelievable in several ways. As much as I love the series, this book had me rolling my eyes too many times and is definitely my least favorite of the series. I actually felt Mercy had a few too many TSTL scenes and I think that's the first time I've felt that way with her. If I had read this book first - I'm not sure I would have continued the series. Too many characters making dumb, unprofessional, uncharacteristic moves for me.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments Susan, I said the same thing to my daughter. Every book has Truman or Mercy in a fight for their life. I don't know how either one of them can walk straight with all their injuries.

This is my least favorite too. I expected so much more with what I thought was going to be the last book. I would rather have more Truman & Mercy time than all the crazy federal agency posturing. I didn't like that at all.

This was more about thrills and suspense (we were all pulling for Mercy to be found) instead of a move forward in character development. If this were the last book, it would have been more disappointing to me, too.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) I've enjoyed the story too but there was quite a lot of plot flaws in this one starting with the unprofessionalism of the Agencies in Charge, the takedown of the Group and then Sean's motives in imprisoning Mercy and Eden at the Cabin.

The Wedding seemed a good finale to the series, but I'll still be reading them as she continues with Mercy and Truman as a married couple.

With all the fires in Oregon at the moment, it made me think what would Mercy do? Even the best prepared people can't survive those wildfires. As having some of our property burn in the Australian bushfires last summer and thankfully only pasture burnt my heart goes out to them.
