David Knott | 55 comments The Psalm 23 Life: Experiencing the Love of God Every Day
Thank you for the opportunity to advertise my new book, it is my hope and prayer that it will be food for the soul in these uncertain times.

Psalm 23 stands as an eternal testimony to the transforming power of God’s love. The Psalm 23 Life shines a new light upon that testimony, so that King David’s experience of God’s love may become our experience too.

The Psalm’s very familiarity helps us in times of need, but that same familiarity can also cause its deep truths to skim across our minds rather than enter our hearts. This book enables us to look at the familiar with new eyes, helping us to more deeply understand, apply and experience its truths… not just in the hard times, but in our everyday life. Such is, The Psalm 23 Life.

Through careful study of the scriptures, illustrated with insights, stories and practical applications for modern life, The Psalm 23 Life opens the door to a life lived in joyful confidence and contentment, through experiencing the love of God every day.

Mickey Mullen (mrmullenvcncom) | 632 comments David could I asked you a question? Were the sacrifices in Leviticus about love or because of the righteousness of God? It reads in St Matthew 6:33 to seek His righteousness, and doesn't say a word about love, that only keeps the basket full. Ezekiel 36: 26 - 27 happened to me after I left a protestant church, that should show you the condition of the churchs. Paul was a false prophet, St John 3:16 never came from God, Love has nothing to do with being born again and receiving the Holy Ghost in the mouth, as Jesus received it, "it never lighting on Him."

Elijah Malachi 4: 5 - 6 How do you like those apples?

Mickey Mullen believes that he is Elijah.

Jesus tells us clearly that John the Baptist was the Elijah who was to come.

our choice is clear...

Thanks for the question Mickey. I believe the old testament sacrifices to be part of God’s progressive revelation, and as you say they relate to the righteousness of God. They reveal his holiness, and how impossible it is for sinful beings like us to draw near to him without our sin being paid for and cleansed. Our Lord Jesus is the ultimate revelation of God, and he revealed the love for God to us on the cross.

Perhaps Matthew 6:33 did not tell us to seek God’s love because we already have it. Who seeks what they already have? God loved us before the foundation of the world.

I do talk about the relationship between God’s righteousness and his love in my book, because Psalm 23 talks about righteous paths. Below is a quote, I hope you find it helpful:

“Righteousness is one of the foundations of our Lord’s character: ‘Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you.’ (Psalm 89:14)

I love that picture of God’s power and authority being built on righteousness and justice. It is impossible for God to do the wrong thing. The apostle John puts it like this: ‘God is light; in him there is no darkness at all’ (1 John 1:5).

The wonderful thing about our Shepherd is that love and faithfulness go before him. If we ask for forgiveness, he will give it freely: ‘If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.’ (1 John 1:8,9)

Even as Christians who trust in Jesus, we are not perfect. As sheep, we continue to wander from the righteous path. When we confess our sins to God, his righteousness says, ‘Your sin needs punishment’, but in his faithfulness God remembers that Jesus has paid for your sin on the Cross. So then his justice says, ‘Because Jesus has PAID the penalty for your sin, I will cleanse you from it completely, I will make you as white as snow’. In this way, God’s righteousness and justice are satisfied completely, and he sees us as if we had never sinned. This amazing gift of forgiveness is possible because God’s love went before him, and moved him to provide such a great salvation.”

Mickey Mullen (mrmullenvcncom) | 632 comments David God put a nausea feeling on me when I started reading in the book of Acts, and when I did read how Paul said he was saved, it left know doubt he was never redeemed. The other writers of the New Testament never understood the Gospel including His half brother James and 1 John as you used.
If God is love as Paul will lie to you about, and confessing your sin, why didn't it work for John the Baptist. He told you what I do is not needful, it is what Jesus does for you is needed or actually the Spirit in Genesis 1: 2 gives you the new heart.
Your righteousness in the Psalm is about God, i'm concerned about your righteousness? God can take care of Himself. It is obvious Adam and Eve's body were physically changed so mankind must get physically changed back as they were before they ate the forbidden fruit. A new heart will I give you. Ezekiel 36; 26
" Be ye therefore perfect even as your Father in heaven is perfect." St Matthew 5: 48 I'm perfect after being born again, (new heart) received the Holy Ghost in the mouth, as Jesus received it, and was given the Tree of Life, that made me perfect.
It grieved God in his heart that He had made man on the earth. Genesis 6: 6
