Dan Williams (danwilliamsbooks) | 9 comments Hi all, my first novel, Aroha, will be published in Kindle and paperback formats on Amazon before the end of the month. Here are three proposed blurbs. If you get a minute, could you let me know which one if any would sell you the book.

I'm happy to review other people's works in progress or completed works free of charge and time permitting, also.

Blurb One
Aroha is an anomaly with shaky mental health, a soul without a body who can still touch the world but probably shouldn’t. With the new-fangled tech, inconsiderately incompatible with ghosts, she’s all but lost touch with everything beyond the hedge. Without flesh to check her feelings they escalate but she’s got her strategies; she manages. For twenty-four years she’s kept a – reasonably – low profile. Then her daughter Joanna descends on the family home at the centre of a deadly vortex of mess, tobacco, art supplies, coffee and pot-smoke and Aroha is forced (and forced and forced) to think on a certain misdemeanour she would prefer to let lie. As if things weren’t hard enough without a mortal hide to help manage her mental health and the phantom urges of yester-body, Joanna’s new boyfriend Tristian with his loose wandering soul and tight morals, presents an awkwardly arousing distraction.

Blurb Two
Joanna’s fine with her random urges. She’s confident in her ability to paint masterpieces that fetch millions in a world of shrinking coasts, violent storms and all but outlawed paper. She’s clueless about everything else and particularly the unexpected windfall of a new boyfriend and the discovery that while dead, her mother is far from gone and is largely disapproving of her choices. Aroha has awaited her daughter’s return for twenty-four years and is none too happy with the lazy, messy, pot-smoking result. Nor does she necessarily approve of Joanna’s new boyfriend, Tristian from down the line. And nor does she want to think about what she did last summer.

Blurb Three
A ghost and its snoring secret, a fragile tech superstar with a loosened soul and a clueless pot smoking billionaire artist. Seal ingredients in house, shake to combine, blame yourself for being an idiot, an a***hole and a failure; and don’t be surprised if no one likes you. It’s not Aroha’s fault she died before she could raise Joanna properly and it’s not as if she isn’t still trying even though it’s too late. She doesn’t trust Joanna’s boyfriend Tristian the tech superstar, either. He’s unacceptably handsome and too able to see her and expose her for the…, well never mind. Joanna can paint masterpieces that fetch millions, get herself laid whenever she needs to and is otherwise clueless so it’s a rough wakeup call having to fight for her boyfriend not exactly over her mother’s dead body but well, kind of.
