That's any of COLBI for you.

Great. Thanks Misericordia :)

Count me in for either 2a or 2b. 2b might be the better option just because it's longer.
I don't think I have any on my tbr that take place in the correct spot for the detour, but I'll double check.

Basically, the book doesn't have to be sci-fi, it's just that sci-fi is the 1st thing that comes to mind for where such setting could happen.

(I'll be AWOL for a bit but I'll be back :) )

I think this is going to be my last round with the journey as its moving a bit quick for me. Its been fun though.

I think this is going to be my last round with the journey as its moving a bit quick for me. Its been fun though." Thanks, Thea! I think our today's speed is just due to novelty of Week 1 of our new itinerary for us :) we shouldn't expect our today's speed to last, considering our past experiences :) (and our RL worloads taking toll).

✔️ C - Thea -

✔️O - Misericordia

✔️ L - Alyana (L or C)

O - Stephanie - in progress
✔️ M - Saar the Book Pwl

✔️ B - Alyana

✔️ I - Alyana

✔️ A - Bobbi -

Expected marks for W1: 25 out of 35 points possible.
1. Complete spell-it-out - 10 out of 10 ✔️
2. At least 6 team members contribute to the task - 15 out of 15 ✔️
3. All 8 team members read a book - 0 out of 10 (not everyone read a book, for the spellout or otherwise)

Actually, I double checked my tbr and I'm glad I did. I do have a book that would word for option 3, so could you change my vote to 2b or 3, please and thank you?

We are in the process of casting votes, I think.

So we managed to get 6 members to spell Columbia for week one.
We're voting for week 2 here.

So we managed to get 6 members to spell Columbia for week one.
We're voting for week 2 here."
I would vote for 2b, can't find books that I can read for detour as of the moment.

We're voting for week 2 here."Yep, we're voting for Week 2 but we're still waiting for Stephanie to complete her O for Week 1.
Voting on W2:
☐Read books set in Chile or Punta Arenas (CL) or by authors from Chile
☐Complete a spell-it-out of Chile (2a) or Punta Arenas (2b) (CL)
☐Detour: Read a book which has the main location (setting) as a plane or other flying ship
☑Alyana - 3 or 2b
☐delirious reader - ?
☑Misericordia - 3 (space operas anyone?) or 2b (since 2a is way too short for at least 6 people to read)
☑Saar the Book Owl - 2
☑Stephanie - 2b or 3
☐Storm - ?
☐Thea - ?
☑Bobbi - 3
☑Pooja - 2

So we managed to get 6 members to spell Columbia for week one.

Hi Bobbi, thank you for sharing. I checked it out but I can't find that I like. Honestly, it's not my genre to read. I'll stick my vote to 2b.

So we managed to get 6 membe..." Ok, I thought you were doing the flight book above. My mistake again :)

So we managed..."
No. I was asking if I can use that book because I wasn't sure if the main setting was on a plane. I just based it on the title.
And I just saw your response with my question, my bad. If that can work, I'm okay with 3 then. So sorry, my mind keeps changing.

Great! So we start W2 as soon as Stephanie finishes the book for O right?

Great! So we start W2 as soon as Stephanie finishes the book for O..." Yep. Basically, we can start claiming books and reading for them already, since we can bank books. But officially, yep. And we'll have to stay at W2 for another 7 days a minimum.

The Shadows - it was first published July 2020 :) Can it still count?

The Shadows - it was first published July 2020 :) Can it still count?" Sure. But we aren't reading a detour for W1. Or are we? If we do, I'm in but you'll have to get the other team members on board with us :)

If we can get one more person on board for the W1 detour, I'll be finished with One of Us Is Next (published Jan. 2020) by March 1st.

It doesn't really make sense to read for a week twice around. We won't get any additional points or anything. So if we really want a detour we have to choose right the 1st time around :) That's why we do votes and all.

That's fine. I was just trying to be helpful. I chose what I wanted the first week.

Potentially silly question regarding banked letters and such. Do we have a place that I'm possibly overlooking on the spreadsheet or in general where we're keeping track of letters we've banked other than this thread?
Secondarily, can we bank for detours? For example, I'm reading a book that would fit for Week 2's 2b (if that's what we go with), but it also fits Week 3's detour. So could I decide to hold onto that one in the event that we try for that detour? (I apologize if that question is jumbled up and clear as mud. I have a bad migraine and I've rewritten it like 3 times. It isn't getting any clearer lol)

I always try to hold onto books that fit the rarer letters as well :) All those pesky X, Z, Qs :)
Basically, we could read already 1-2 leters / detours from each week and then enter them as we start each week :)
Bobbi wrote: "I have a bad migraine" I'm so sorry about that :( Whenever I get those I'm just off the planet for indeterminate time :((( Hope it passes soon!

and we haven't heard from Delirious Reader in a while.
*sad*
So, if anyone wants to invite players, it would be nice.

I invited a friend of mine, her name is Pooja. I told her to jump in to the discussion. :)

We are in the process of voting for our W2 (please see message 473). You can choose 1-2 options. We choose our own books but it has to match the task for the week. Misericordia can explain it you better in case I missed something.

Pooja wrote: "Hii ! I m in .
Thanks for inviting me Alyana😊" Hi! Welcome to the team!
Alyana explained everything perfectly. We are in the process of finishing Week 1 (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... where 1 reader is reading for the last letter) and are selecting the task for Week 2 https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/....
We usually have to select between the task of reading books set in some country or by an author from that same country (1) OR a spell-out of that country or a city in there (2) OR a detour - an unrelated task which could be massive fun if selected properly (3).
All our tasks for the current itinerary are posted here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/....
Our tasks and points and everything are posted on our spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/.... You are welcome to request access for it and you'll have it. Also, I'm doubling our reading statuses and tasks and everything in posts on this thread.
We can read ahead and bank book until we want to use them. So, if you, for instance, finish W2 and want to read for W9, you are most welcome to it.

I will go for option 2" Cool, thanks, Pooja! I entered your vote https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/.... Looks we're likely to be spelling Punta Arenas :)

We need at least 4 members to attempt the detour, right?
